Meet Jessica Eriksen of White Rabbit High Tea

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Eriksen.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m the founder of White Rabbit High Tea in Los Angeles. I have been drinking tea religiously  since I was a nanny in Ireland at 19 and I’ve been  a Medical Marijuana patient starting in my home state of Oregon when I was 21 when broke my right ankle in a skateboarding accident on the Ashland Plaza. I’ve used Cannabis ever since to treat my arthritis and last September I broke my left ankle so I started the healing process all over again with the help of Cannabis. I rejected the opiates the Dr. prescribed and pleaded with me to use and stuck to Tylenol and Cannabis, I’m happy to say I’m now off the tylenol. Earlier last year with the help of the Petit Ermitage Hotel in West Hollywood I had started White Rabbit High Tea to bring our  love of tea time and Cannabis together.  We share an experience with people who want to take a trip down the rabbit hole for relaxation, healing or play, sometimes all three. We provide non-medicated snacks and tea and various cannabis companies sponsor the events and bring their products to the table to share with our guests. There is a costume box if guests are feeling underdressed as “Sunday Best” to Formal attire is highly recommended. Guests are seated around a long table at a mad hatter style affair where they meet new friends and make amazing memories! It’s basically my whole life and all my dreams culminated into one lovely afternoon at a time. It’s wonderful to be able to share with so many people now that the laws are changing.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Things have not been easy by any means, it’s been a lot of fun as they should be with party planning but none of this is easy. Everyday there is a new hurdle to overcome but White Rabbit High Tea has made it one year and we look forward to the growth that the challenges that year two will bring!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
White Rabbit High Tea specializes in the highest High Tea Parties and Garden Parties in the greater Los Angeles area. High class cannabis infused events, we host our own monthly experiential marketing event and we are available for private parties as well. We are really excited to be a part of the emerging Cannabis Wedding community and share that gift with people who want to explore healthy alternative ways of celebrating life events.

We recently had an article in Marie Claire and we are proud of bringing cannabis out of the shadows and on the Silver Platter to which it belongs!

What were you like growing up?
My very first “career” as a child was raising rabbits and selling them for $7 to other children as pets. I have always loved animals and being in nature coming from Oregon. We spent a lot of time camping, horseback riding and hiking growing up. I was a lifeguard and started teaching swimming lessons at 14, I still teach every summer to this day. I love working with kids and was a babysitter and nanny at a young age, through college and pretty much till I moved to LA 5 years ago. When I was very young I loved spending weekends with my grandma Harriet who taught me about makeup and mid-western glamour. Avon, yellow mustangs and dill toast with cream cheese and olives. Arts and crafts and “I Dream of Genie” were our favorite past times together. I was always the one trying to help others get along or bring people together with gatherings, events and parties. I have always had a camera in my hand or tried to document the valuable moments in some form or another, scrapbooking, letter writing, collage, writing, and performing.  All roads would have eventually lead me here anyway.

A favorite memory of high school age Jessica is that she had a guest book in her car.
