Meet Dr. Kelly Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Kelly Williams.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Southern Illinois University (Carbondale, IL) and completed a Master of Science in Educational Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. I decided to pursue a doctorate and completed my Doctor of Psychology degree from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I am licensed in the State of California as a Marriage and Family Therapist with the Board of Behaviorally Sciences and registered as a Psychological Assistant with the State of California Board of Psychology. With my current credentials, I decided to open a private practice and work independently as a treatment practitioner.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road I’ve traveled has definitely been full of bumps, setbacks and hiccups along the way. The training and amount of education that is required to earn a doctorate in Psychology is absolutely grueling. There have been plenty of times whereas I wanted to quit because of the long hours, difficult stories you hear, and the crises you face when dealing with individuals who are mentally disturbed. However, with an awesome support system, I’ve been able to persevere.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are a Private Practice that provides treatment for mental health disorders. I specialize in the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder, Couples and Marital treatment, and impaired treatment providers (e.g. Psychologists, Psychiatrists, and Physicians).

One of the things that set me apart from other providers is, I am one of the few practitioners that specializes in the treatment of impaired practitioners and Borderline Personality Disorder.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The thing I love most about living in Los Angeles is, this is the land of opportunity where dreams are encouraged and supported.

Alternatively, I am confident that I am not alone when I say, “the traffic” is the worst thing about being in Los Angeles!
