Today we’d like to introduce you to Sophia DeDomenico.
Hi Sophia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got started in design by accident! My husband is the son of a custom home builder, and shortly after we were married, we began building spec homes together as an extra stream of income. Through that process, I developed a deep love for everything construction and design—from space planning and material selection to the finishing details that make a house feel like a home. What began as a side hustle quickly grew into a full-time passion, and over the past 15 years, my business has evolved organically through word of mouth, referrals, and repeat clients who trusted my eye and process. I’ve had the privilege of designing everything from ground-up estates to intimate remodels to baby nurseries, to whole house furnishings, always with an emphasis on timeless beauty, thoughtful functionality, and a sense of curated refinement. Looking back, I never would’ve imagined this path, but I’m so grateful for how it’s unfolded.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road! like most entrepreneurial journeys, mine has been full of twists, growing pains, and moments of doubt. In the beginning, I was learning everything on the fly while also working a corporate job, raising young children, and juggling site visits, design presentations, and client calls. There were seasons when the work felt nonstop and the balance between business and family life was incredibly hard to maintain. I also had to learn how to grow a business with no formal background in design—just grit, instinct, one off design courses, and a love for the work. Every challenge, though, helped refine my vision, sharpen my systems, and build the confidence I needed to design with purpose.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Et Sal Interiors, we specialize in full-service interior design with a focus on holistic interior design. Our projects include custom homes, large-scale renovations, and furnishing projects that require a high level of detail and project management. Our work is deeply rooted in a refined, timeless aesthetic that feels elevated yet livable—always tailored to reflect the people who live in the space. We’re known for creating intentional, collected interiors that blend old and new, and for working seamlessly alongside architects, builders, and artisans to bring a cohesive vision to life from the ground up. What sets us apart is our ability to combine a strong understanding of construction with a designer’s eye—bridging form and function in a way that feels effortless. I’m most proud of the trust our clients place in us and the relationships we’ve built over the years. Our clients know they can hand us the reins, and we’ll not only deliver a beautiful result but guide them through the process with confidence and care. Whether it’s a full-home design or simply helping a family reimagine their most-used spaces, we bring clarity, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Absolutely—there’s no way I could have built this business on my own. First and foremost, my husband, Jeff, has been my greatest supporter from day one. He believed in my talent before I even saw it in myself and has always encouraged me to pursue this path wholeheartedly. He’s also been an incredible partner on the construction side through his construction company, BUILDD3. And of course, I’m endlessly grateful to the clients who trusted me early on, often before I had a portfolio to show. Their faith gave me the confidence to keep going. Every referral, repeat project, and kind word has helped build the foundation I stand on today.
