Check Out Jesse Scott’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jesse Scott

Hi Jesse, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey into real estate is quite interesting. Raised in Alaska, I grew up in a family where real estate, entrepreneurship, and sales were second nature. My mother, a real estate broker in Alaska for over two decades, inspired me with her dedication and success.

After earning my degree in Business Management from Alaska Pacific University, I embraced a variety of roles—from hospitality and commercial fishing to construction. These experiences equipped me with a deep understanding of different industries, adaptability, and resilience, all of which are invaluable in real estate.

Moving to Los Angeles (or as we call it LA), I followed in my mother’s footsteps, seamlessly blending my family history with my unique experiences to offer exceptional service. My personal life reflects my love for adventure and community. Whether playing soccer on the westside, hiking the Santa Monica Mountains with my wife Aly and our dog Rooney, or enjoying a sunny day at the beach, I find joy in simple pleasures. You’ll often find me at Santa Monica Brewworks, my favorite local brewery, catching a game and sharing laughs.

I pride myself on being more than just a real estate agent. I’m a storyteller, community builder, and trusted friend, ready to guide you through your real estate journey.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to where I am today in real estate has certainly not been smooth. While my family history provided a strong foundation, my journey has had its fair share of challenges. One of my biggest struggles was the transition from Alaska to this bustling real estate market in Los Angeles. Adapting to the fast pace and competitive nature of this market required a steep learning curve.

Balancing diverse roles in hospitality, commercial fishing, and construction before fully committing to real estate was another challenge. Each industry had its demands, and finding a way to integrate those experiences into my real estate practice took time and effort. Additionally, building a client base from scratch in a new city was daunting. Establishing trust and credibility in a market where I was relatively unknown required perseverance and a relentless work ethic.

On a personal level, maintaining a work-life balance has been a constant challenge. Real estate is demanding, and ensuring I had time for my passions and family required careful planning and discipline. However, these struggles have only made me more resilient and adaptable. Each challenge has been a learning experience, shaping me into a better agent and individual.

Despite the bumps along the way, my passion for real estate and helping others has kept me motivated. These experiences have taught me the value of hard work, adaptability, and genuine care for my clients, making the journey all the more rewarding.

How do you think about luck?
Luck, both good and bad, has certainly played a role in my life and business. I believe that while luck can influence certain outcomes, it’s how we respond to these moments that truly shapes our journey.

I’ve had my share of good luck, like meeting incredible mentors and being introduced to opportunities at just the right time. For instance, transitioning to the Los Angeles real estate market was made smoother thanks to a few key connections and timely advice from experienced colleagues. These moments of good luck have provided valuable learning experiences and opened doors that might have otherwise remained closed.

Conversely, I’ve also faced instances of bad luck, such as market downturns and challenging transactions that didn’t go as planned. These moments tested my resilience and adaptability, teaching me valuable lessons about perseverance and the importance of maintaining a positive outlook even in tough times.

Overall, I view luck as a complementary factor to hard work, dedication, and a proactive attitude. While I can’t control luck, I can control how I prepare for and respond to the opportunities and challenges it brings. By staying committed to my goals, continuously learning, and building strong relationships, I’ve been able to turn both good and bad luck into valuable experiences that have contributed to my growth and success.
