Rising Stars: Meet Jordan Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Jones.

Hi Jordan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I never cared much about fashion when I was younger, I liked looking good for social events, but at school, I was sweatpants and hoodie guy. When I decided I was going to USC and going to be living in Los Angeles I felt it time to care more about how I presented myself. I think I felt a lot of pressure being surrounded by such fabulous people and felt inadequate. Figuring out that I had an eye for fashion was really validating for me and I just started posting pictures that made me feel good. Sophomore year I really wanted to make an impact around USC and branch out more, and I guess I started being known within my community for being a singer and posting nice pictures. I was also roommates with a content creator and I enjoyed learning about content and then had a viral Tiktok. From there, I got my first brand partnership with a swimwear company and then with UNIQLO and that’s when I felt like I was doing okay with content. I started working with a couple of other companies and joined some fashion and content clubs at USC. Now I still consider myself an opera singer first who enjoys creating content and putting on nice clothes.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think the most challenging part is trying to remain consistent while still being in college and an opera singer. I also think I’m very new in my process and struggle finding a niche. I like being funny, but I also like fashion, but I also like singing, etc. My biggest obstacle right now is realizing what I really want to do and being authentic with that. I always feel like people can tell when you really love something versus when you don’t and I have to first really figure out what I love making most. Overall, I think the process has been very easy and I just kind of stumbled across these opportunities, I’m very appreciative of where I am and where I’m going.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m primarily a student studying opera, which is really niche and completely different than what I do on social media, but I also make fashion, comedy, and lifestyle content on Instagram and Tiktok. I specialize in operatic performance, but I guess I’m more known for my style and ability to make people laugh. What I’m most proud of isn’t an award or partnership but my ability to pursue anything and everything I want to do. I think moving to LA specifically for college was a nice introduction but along the way, I told myself that I can do anything I set my mind to and the possibilities are endless for me. In this season of my life, I am a funny opera singer, content creator fashionista, but who knows where and who I’ll be in the future. I honestly don’t know what sets me apart, I think something about me that can be good or bad is that I have no filter and I allow myself to feel and express how I want to and I am open to trying anything that I want to.

What are your plans for the future?
I plan on continuing studying to be an opera singer and creating content. Ideally, I want to be known more for fashion and creating lifestyle content. I want to continue traveling and doing whatever makes me happy. I’m also only 19 so I don’t want to put myself into a box by saying I only plan to do this or that, I’m open to whatever path is meant for me.
