Meet Scott Roeb of Scott Roeb Catering & Events in Tarzana

Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Roeb.

Scott Roebcan you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Scott’s entrepreneurial spirit is evident in everything that he does. He started his business in 1988 as an event coordinator specializing in bachelor and bachelorette parties.  He then moved onto working as a theater and live television producer.  His production background made it an easy transition into event production.  His family had been in the restaurant business and Scotthad grown up surrounded by amazingly talented grandmothers and aunts who loved to prepare incredible meals.

Scott Roeb Catering & Events, Inc., (SRC&E) founded in 1990, produces a multitude of events from corporate conferences and meetings, to weddings, to bar- and bat-mitzvahs, to political fund-raisers and social parties. SRC&E Inc. has served guests at events ranging in size from 10 to over three thousand people.  The motto of Scott Roeb Catering & Events, Inc. is “Life is Better Catered.” We believe that good food is part of the goodness of life. We believe that wonderful food enhances life’s pleasures and celebrations,

Scott’s mission is to create memorable events that incorporate innovative multi-sensory uses of taste and aroma. Extraordinary cuisine, incredible presentation along with unparalleled service are what Scott Roeb Catering’s mission is all about.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has been relatively smooth, but like anything else in this highly competitive service business, you have to keep looking forward and think outside the box to stay one step ahead creatively.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about it – what should we know?
We specialize in off-premise catering and are also the exclusive caterer at Temple Judea in Tarzana.  We are also on the preferred catering lists at several venues around LA.  We expanded our business and added a kosher division a couple of years ago.   We are known in the hospitality industry as one of the top catering companies in southern LA.

What we are most proud of is our nearly 100% retention rate for repeat business from our customers.  The attention to detail and execution of each event is met with unparalleled expertise and our out-of-the-box presentation and unbelievable cuisine are what our clients come to expect and enjoy.   Our scope of cuisine is wide ranging.  We have loyal customers that have been with us for nearly 30 years and that is something that really keeps us motivated to continue to produce new and better events!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have started right away as a catering company instead of just an event consulting company.
