Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Linh.
By Lisa Linh was created in 2014 with an initial focus on fashion & styling. However, it has since evolved into a place for home/interiors inspiration with a heavy focus on mental health and wellness.
Lisa is a Los Angeles native, raised in Long Beach, and currently resides in Pasadena. She graduated from CSULB with a BA in a degree that has nothing to do with what she’s doing now 🙂 She has worked 12+ years in the corporate world in a number of positions ranging from data entry to digital marketing. Lisa left the corporate world in May of 2015 to pursue By Lisa Linh full-time.
While Lisa’s goal is to motivate and inspire her audience to live an intentional lifestyle, her other goal is to de-stigmatize mental health — especially within the Asian American community. Lisa has had her own struggles with mental health, in particular depression, suicide, and burnout, and hopes that by sharing her personal stories, she will encourage others to share theirs and acknowledge that it is okay to not be okay at times. Through her content, Lisa hopes to encourage her audience to live a life that they are happy in. Shutting down self-doubt and self-sabotaging thoughts and replacing them with self-reminders regarding growth, positivity, and the overall message of “YOU ARE ENOUGH.”
In her free time, Lisa is usually roller skating, tending to her indoor jungle, or hanging out with her cats.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was not a smooth journey but nothing worth it ever comes easy! The first few years as an entrepreneur left me completely broke, I quit my corporate job in 2014 without a backup plan or savings account. I had no idea what I was doing, but I knew I didn’t want to keep working towards someone else’s dreams. I was tired of the corporate burnout and I knew if I didn’t try blogging full-time, I would regret it. There were so many downfalls along the way from almost getting evicted twice to taking out loans to stay afloat. With each obstacle, I learned something new and I would like to think that the hardship was worth it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a blogger, photographer, creative, roller skater, and stubborn Capricorn. I run By Lisa Linh (a home, wellness, and lifestyle blog) and create content for my Instagram, in which most of my content is inspired by my own wellness and self-growth journey and cozy lifestyle. I’m continuously learning every day and I like to share the things I learn with my audience because you never know who needs to hear what you heard too.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Persistency and consistency.
