Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Kane.

Nick, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After decades of experience working for other companies, I started LAclown.com as a high-quality service with better business practices. I created a top rate highest quality service with the best equipment. I passionately research the sacred art of making fun memories with everybody together and now I sometimes teach other performers too! Plus I still do a few charity gigs now and then just to give back.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My higher price was my main obstacle. I wanted to work with the best equipment but I didn’t know if people would be willing to pay higher rates so I could afford to keep investing in better gear, as many look for the cheapest (and I am not the cheapest), but I get plenty of gigs via word of mouth referred from past happy clients, people who know me in the community, and those who have seen me perform. I still have not paid for any advertising with the 2 exceptions of business cards and a website.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am known for being high quality and also being the “all-in-one” entertainment. I bring several forms of entertainment to the same party and feel out what people like the most, skipping over what they are not into and giving the party and people more of what is needed for the moment.

What were you like growing up?
I was the teacher’s pet, A+ good kid growing up, but I always loved the class clowns, and was usually best friends with them. I still am interested in being a good person and still have lots of love for the people that make school and work environments something we can laugh at and look forward to.
