Hidden Gems: Meet Josef Hadeed of Hadeed Plastic Surgery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josef Hadeed.

Hi Josef, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I actually entered medical school with the intention of becoming a pediatrician. But as I progressed through various clinical rotations, I found myself increasingly drawn to surgery. I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands, and the technical precision and creativity required in the operating room immediately captured my attention.

Initially, I explored multiple surgical specialties – from cardiac surgery to trauma to minimally invasive techniques – but it wasn’t until my internship in general surgery that I discovered my true calling. During a rotation on the plastic surgery service, I was profoundly moved by the transformative nature of the procedures I witnessed. I assisted in cleft lip and palate repairs for infants, breast reconstruction following mastectomy, and complex facial trauma surgeries. Each case revealed the power of restoring form and function – and the emotional healing that often follows physical reconstruction.

That experience solidified my decision to pursue a career in plastic surgery. I’ve always been drawn to the intersection of art, science, and human connection. What began as a fascination with reconstruction evolved into a passion for helping people feel more confident and at home in their bodies. Along the way, I also realized that while surgical expertise is essential, what truly sets a practice apart is the quality of care patients receive along their entire journey – from their first consultation to the recovery after surgery. That insight has shaped every decision I’ve made to ensure that we are offering our patients a boutique, concierge-type experience.

Following my training, I worked as a hospital-employed plastic surgeon. It was an incredible experience, but I always knew I wanted to build a practice rooted in my own vision. In 2014, I made the leap and moved to Los Angeles to open my private practice in Beverly Hills. Today, I lead a forward-thinking plastic surgery practice that blends innovation with a highly personalized approach. We have since expanded our footprint to Miami, and I now split my time between both coasts. I’ve introduced new procedures and, to the best of my knowledge, was the first plastic surgeon on the West Coast to offer rib remodeling surgery, which is an innovative technique to reduce the waistline and sculpt the silhouette.

Our team has had the privilege of guiding thousands of patients from across the country and around the world through some of the most transformative chapters of their lives. Recently, we expanded into a larger space to support our growing practice and to offer an even more holistic and elevated patient experience. What keeps me inspired is witnessing the ripple effect that confidence can have. It is quite satisfying to see patients post selfies of themselves on their social media showing off their newfound looks and self-esteem. When people feel empowered in their own skin, it touches every part of their lives – and knowing I get to play a small role in that transformation is something I never take for granted.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t all been smooth sailing, but my struggles are where most of the growth happened. Starting a private practice in Beverly Hills, where the bar is sky-high and the competition is fierce, came with its fair share of challenges. I didn’t have a built-in referral network or a name people already recognized. There were times early on when I questioned if it would all come together, but I stayed committed to creating something meaningful and impactful.

One of the biggest challenges was how much I had to learn about the business side of medicine. Medical school teaches you how to be a doctor, not how to run a practice. Suddenly, I was wearing a lot of hats – building a brand, managing a team, running social media – all while keeping patient safety and the whole patient experience at the center. It was certainly a crash course in entrepreneurship, and I definitely made mistakes along the way, but learned so much from every single one.

We’ve been impressed with Hadeed Plastic Surgery, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a boutique plastic surgery practice with locations in both Beverly Hills and Miami, focused on delivering highly personalized care in a modern, welcoming setting. While I offer a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, my specialty lies in aesthetic breast surgery and advanced body contouring.

At the heart of our work is a passion for helping people look and feel their best—not just physically, but in how they move through the world with confidence. We’ve developed two signature procedures that really set us apart. The first is our TriDef® liposculpting technique, a high-definition body contouring procedure designed to create a more athletic, sculpted, and defined look. The second is our H-Curve™ rib remodeling surgery, an innovative technique that permanently reduces the waistline to create a more pronounced hourglass shape.

Our approach is holistic. We focus on optimizing the body both before and after surgery to support healing, enhance outcomes, and create long-lasting results. From the first consultation to full recovery, our goal is to make the entire experience as seamless, supportive, and empowering as possible.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I have learned is that people don’t come to you because you are technically a great surgeon. They come to you because they trust you, which is a responsibility I take seriously.
