Meet Cat Miggs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cat Miggs.

Hi Cat, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, I guess it all started with my name Cat… people would want to spell my name with a “K”. So at first, I would say “C-A-T like the animal” but still it would be spelled wrong with a “K” So then I got the idea to start wearing clothing with cats on it and I would still say “C-A-T like the animal” but would add “if you forget my name it’s somewhere on me.” And that’s when people would spell my name right! To this day, I still wear Cats on me somewhere. However, then it was brought to my attention and asked if I’m becoming one of those “Crazy Cat Ladies” people put that phrase in a negative tone so with my comedy and burlesque background – I’m now proving that “Cats are SEXY” thank you.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being a creative, I love so many things so I admit getting focused is sometimes hard, but with having so many interests, my skill section on resume is out of this world. I’m constantly learning new things. Like right now, I’m learning how to play the fiddle and banjo — let me tell you, as of this moment — not that good, horrible, my neighbors probably hate me — but give me a couple of months to a year hopefully. I’ll be decent! I think the best thing one can do for themselves is to love the learning process, love the ugly and know that if you keep at it, you will be rewarded!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a Character Actress / Writer/ Creator. I specialize in comedy. My background is in improv. I’m known for playing characters that’s my sweet spot. Currently working on my writing, I’m getting better everyday with it so that’s what I’m proud of most right now. What sets me apart from others is my vivid imagination.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I believe everyone takes little risk everyday, it lets us know we are alive. As far as major risks – yeah I’ve taken a few — from packing my bags and a one way ticket to LA to believing my career choice will support me. Like I stated earlier risk lets us know we are alive!
