Meet Deja Brown of Deja Doodles in East LA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deja Brown.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started graphic design and illustrating digitally in high school, long before I knew that I could make a passion and career out of it. I scraped all the money I had to buy my first Wacom tablet and before I knew it, I was a full-time college student who was on the path to becoming a freelance artist.

Has it been a smooth road?
No road to success is smooth. For me, getting to where I am now has taken a lot of patience, confidence, and determination. There have been plenty of sleepless nights where I would second guess my art, and even myself as an artist, but knew that at the end of the day, if it was my passion, then I could make it into a career that I love to do!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Deja Doodles – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I am a freelance graphic designer and illustrator. I help a lot of people build their businesses to they’re standards through the visual communication side of things and through the illustrative personality as well! I work a lot with backgrounds and color pallet details. I always make it a point to make my work expressive and loud so that it could catch a persons’ eyes from miles away.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like the best about our city, THE BEACH!!! I always try to sneak in a quick visit if I have the time and chance. As for the dislikes…a no brainer…traffic.
