Meet Danielle Beinstein of Psychological Astrologer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Beinstein.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My journey has taken me by surprise more than once. I never expected to end up here. Growing up on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, I was surrounded by those in law and the financial sector. My father was a bit of an outlier; he was an entrepreneur and, being from Brooklyn, was a little rough around the edges in comparison to the other fathers. My mother was a homemaker and a voracious reader.

From my father, I inherited a willingness to exist outside of the box, career-wise and from my mother, I inherited a philosophical and psychological lens. I was an intensely passionate kid, devoting copious amounts of energy to studying what interested me, which led me to a self-made undergraduate degree from NYU in literature, philosophy and social history, the pursuit of a career in media and, perhaps most importantly, a deep dive into astrology starting at the age of 19.

But it really wasn’t until I found myself flattened, after having been embroiled in a deeply destructive romantic relationship at the age of 29, that my life began to really take form. On a whim, I decided to enroll in a Master’s Program in Spiritual Psychology and from there, everything began to flow. My friend Paula Mallis and I started co-facilitating New and Full Moon Circles, I began teaching meditation at Unplug Meditation and, in 2014, started my practice in Spiritual Psychology, which is a blend of all my learnings over the years, both personally and professionally.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It wasn’t smooth until I started listening to my intuition and let go of all the conditioning that had prevented me from pursuing my true passions in the first place.

There were a lot of tears shed and battles with my ego before I finally surrendered into my calling. I’ve been a late bloomer in every way, and though I felt like an outcast for much of my life, it makes sense to me now. I didn’t have a lot of support in my transition.

Old friends and family were skeptical, which only deepened my confusion and self-doubt. But I see now how all of that served me greatly, how it led to a deeper sense of self-trust.

Please tell us about Psychological Astrologer.
I’m a Psychological Astrologer. I really see astrology as a window into our psyche and patterning. The more conscious we are of these patterns, the less they control us, the more we’re able to integrate them. This, in turn, allows us a sense of agency.

We’re harnessing the energy, instead of the energy harnessing us. Every session is unique because I meet my clients where they are. Holding space for others’ transformations is such an honor. I love what I do for a living. I pinch myself every day.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing. Truly. I know it sounds pat but every choice, every decision led me here, and I would not trade here for anything. I don’t believe things happen to us, but for us.

If I had known then what I know now, I wouldn’t have grown from the experience.
