Today we’d like to introduce you to Nina Welch.
Nina, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I have loved photography ever since I was a little girl. You would always see me with a camera. My photography started with clouds. All types of clouds. I had albums of cloud pictures. I ventured off into random things. My step-fathers old beat up truck, animals, my little brother and my friends. I fell off photography throughout my young adult life and picked it back up full force 10 years ago.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
My message is simple. “Creating memories through my lens.” I photograph families, maternity, newborn, babies, children, Engagement, Couples, and even animals. I don’t have a structured way I shoot. I pick the location with the help of my clients and go with the flow. My inspiration is the reaction I get from my clients when they get my work. It really makes me happy when they get something and they truly love what they see.
How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
Success is what you make of it. I consider to be successful anytime a client decides to book with me. The competition is fierce where I live. I support my fellow photographers and they support me. We have a group where we can refer if we are unavailable or if we don’t offer a specific service. As a photographer, I feel it is essential to be able to adapt to the ever-changing dynamic of this art. There are always new ways to shoot, new locations, new ideas. Listening to my client’s needs is the best way I can create magic in my photography. I make suggestions and they do as well. I always ask for their ideas and throw mine in as well.
