Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathryn Robbins.
Kathryn, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
With my background in dancing and musical theater, I became interested in make-up. I graduated from JLS Professional Make-up Artist Course in Hollywood,CA, with a certificate of completion. I have a valid Oklahoma and California Cosmetology license.
Has it been a smooth road?
I’ve had some bumps in the road but creativity and passion guide me as a make-up artist and professionalism.
Were there moments when you had to struggle?
It’s a struggle in the beginning because your new and need to network to get yourself out there and known. So people can see your work and would want to hire you for their projects. Once you get that network base it becomes easier.
What’s your outlook for the industry in our city?
Since Los Angeles is the entertainment capital I would say starting your makeup career here is best. The only other city I would recommend would maybe be New York City since they also film a lot there.
