Today we’d like to introduce you to Darci Bawdon.
Darci, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I came from a family that didn’t understand nutrition, and their eating habits consisted of fried food, meat, preservatives, sodas, candy, and desserts. But I always had a passion for wellness. By the time I was 13, I was into eating healthy and playing sports, and at 15, I got my first trainer. I always wanted to work with people and help them improve their lives through better nutrition and exercising, and even through breath work and meditating. The result is that my clients improve both mentally and spiritually. All of it comes together.
Since I was 16, I knew that I wanted to come to L.A. to help people, and I left Montana when I was 18, to pursue my dream.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I arrived in L.A. in 1998 and with $400 in my pocket. I built my business on my own, with no help. I am very proud that I built my business all on my own.
Please tell us about Darci Bawdon Fitness.
I’m a health and fitness coach, and I specialize in specific workouts tailored for the needs of each individual client. I’m proud that I get my clients strong. I make sure that my women clients stay strong and in balance, without losing their femininity.
I’m proud about changing peoples’ lives. I don’t judge my company by how big it’s grown, but by how many lives I’ve touched. One client was diabetic with serious age issues, yet we reversed his diabetes through fitness and nutrition. One of my high profile clients asked me to help her get in shape for a movie, which she did, but she also ended up feeling better mentally, physically, and spiritually.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Growing up in Montana, I got to see some of the most beautiful parts of the country. Camping, fishing and spending time with life long incredible friends. I am very grateful I grew up in beautiful Montana.
