Check Out Khern$’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Khern$.

Hi Khern$, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Artist. Businessman. Visionary. Three of the many ways that truly paint the face behind the name Khern$. I’ve been known by many different names throughout my career since it started back in 2008. If you’ve been around long enough to know me through my names then you definitely know one thing, and that’s the fact that you don’t know me. Whether you met me early on, in more recent ventures, or just see me making noise on the gram (@big_kherns), it’s always a party, and the party doesn’t end here.

I’m a San Fernando Valley purebred, born and raised in Sylmar, CA. So it makes sense that my story started there. Though I’ve traveled to other continents and I’ve freestyled in many countries, the vibe that my words embody will always stem from the love and the energy that my hometown has always shown me.

Recently, you may have seen or heard a thing or two from or about me. You might have even been to one of my shows, but that’s just a glimmer of what I have planned for everyone.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Where to begin… I mean, I guess it’s pretty safe to say that no road worth traveling comes without its catch? One of the biggest obstacles that I can think of right off the bat is the fact that I’m ESL (English Second Language). My family moved to Mexico early in my childhood, so naturally, most of my oldest memories are in Spanish. Television and entertainment of all types played quite the large role in my learning of the English language and some of its dialects.

Then, of course, I’ve risen and fallen in this journey on numerous occasions over the last 10 years or so. Coming back to the game is never as easy as it is starting.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Real. Loud. Flashy. When you think about any and everything that I do, these are the words that come to mind. My shows are insane, my music is lit, my parties are lit, and my sound is unique. We all have strengths and qualities that make up our own personalized vibez, in that sense, I am no different. I’ve performed in front of crowds as big as 1,200 people and as small as 2 people. Every single time I step on stage, regardless of circumstances, you get it all. My specialty is turnin’ up and showin’ out. Plain and Simple.

Be that as it may, I wouldn’t be true to myself if I revealed all my secrets in one spot, now would I?. Stay tuned for more…

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I actually do have thoughts and theories on the direction of the music world in the near future, but I’m guessing that my most accurate prediction is probably the fact that you will definitely be hearing and seeing a lot of me all across the large spectrum that is the industry. Like I said before though… I can’t be giving everything out for free. 😉
