Story & Lesson Highlights with Tasha-Nicole Terani of Malibu

Tasha-Nicole Terani shared her story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Tasha-Nicole, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
The trails at my home in California. They are more than paths—they are my silent journey through the land I cherish. Seven years ago, I began to envision a web of trails weaving through every corner of my little sanctuary, a way to listen to the earth and honor its quiet beauty. With each step I took, I felt the land revealing itself, and slowly, I brought that vision to life with my own hands. Now, I walk these trails every dawn and dusk, feeling connected, grounded, and grateful. There are about fifteen of them, each one a testament to patience and intention. Nothing compares to the quiet joy of walking where I once only dreamed, knowing I shaped this sacred space myself.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Tasha-Nicole Terani, a passionate author, poet, and founder of the Every Child’s Dream Foundation. As a 22-time award-winning author of A Tree for Me, I empower children worldwide through my storytelling. I also created the TNT Soccer Training System, which has helped nurture young athletes globally. My foundation has touched over 96 countries, delivering vital supplies to children in need and fostering hope and resilience. Currently, I’m excited to release my second children’s book, A Flower for You, which celebrates the sacred bonds in nature and the power of kindness. My journey is rooted in nurturing growth, connection, and purpose—believing that even the smallest acts can inspire profound change.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Several people in my life saw parts of me before I fully embraced or understood them myself. My adoptive father, Nick, was both a guiding presence and a true friend—knowing when to lead and when to simply walk beside me. His balance of strength and gentle understanding helped me see my worth more clearly. My best friend, Michael, showed me that no one will recognize your greatness until you reveal it yourself. He helped me understand that how I see myself shapes how the world sees me. That begins the journey inward—listening to my own heart, loving myself unconditionally, and in that space, discovering the infinite potential within. These relationships planted the seeds of self-awareness and courage that continue to guide me.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There are many moments when I feel the urge to give up. That’s the true test of perseverance—when the desire to surrender whispers loudly, yet I choose to step forward. I’ve learned to be gentle with myself during those moments, recognizing that what feels like the end can often be the start of something new. It’s all about perspective: do I see it as an ending, or do I see it as a beginning? We all face moments of doubt, questioning if the effort is worth it, if it’s making a difference. And I hold onto this truth—every bit of it matters. Yes, it’s hard, but yes, it’s worth it.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
There is just one version of me—simply me. Flaws and all, holding a deep gratitude for life’s gift. I navigate good days and bad days alike, always aware that each moment is precious, as if it could be the last. The public face reflects that same truth: a heart open to the beauty and fragility of life, embracing every piece of who I am.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What light inside you have you been dimming?
I often find myself dimming the glow of my eternal optimism. I tend to choose comfort over formality, favoring long walks over social gatherings. My outlook is one of abundance—like a glass that overflows with hope and possibility. It’s a gentle reminder to myself that true fullness comes from staying connected to that inner light, even when I step back from the world’s noise.
