Story & Lesson Highlights with Nicholas Jones of Palmdale California

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Nicholas Jones. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Nicholas, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me starts off with taking in what im grateful for, reading a few mantras to carry throughout my day, then start my morning routine. My morning routine consists of working out, taking a shower and doing my skincare/grooming, then getting an outfit on that makes me feel my best me for that day. I tend to make lots of content throughout my day as well as plan future projects or upcoming photoshoots. Lots of networking with brands on the backend and even pursuing my own career endeavors with the studio industry. I work a 9-5 job as well when im scheduled. Finishing off my day consists of making me dinner or buying something when let’s be real we tend to get lazy at times, showering, journaling, taking in what happened from the day I just had, then finishing any editing, brand outreach, etc before I go to sleep.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Nicholas Jones but I go by Nick Anthony on all social media platforms. I am a videographer, photographer, dancer, and content creator all around. Coming from a small town I didn’t have many outlets to spark or showcase my creativity in the way I wanted, but moving near Los Angeles has opened many doors for me. My brand stands on being yourself. I have always been comfortable In my own shoes as far who I am and knowing myself and love bringing that to all platforms for people to enjoy. Though I have had great achievements through social media, my passion lies in filmmaking and directing. Ever since I was 5 i’ve always been intrigued by the way of telling a story visually through screens and not text. I have a short film im currently in the works on that I am looking to release later 2025 which will also be my first short. On the side of my passion for film is content creating. The power of making a video in 15 seconds or less that can completely change someone’s day, mood, outlook on anything is incredible to me. I started posting content when I was around 10 years old but didn’t get the ball rolling and actually making a name for myself until 7 or so years later.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
In my eyes, my father is the biggest inspiration for me when it comes to work. Growing up from a family of entrepreneurs i’ve always been around the backends of how a business works, what goes into making it run successfully, and being taught what do do when or if the day ever came for myself. Now that I am running my own business with my name as the logo, i’ve had to take in a lot of what’s been taught from him and put it to better use for my brand and its longevity. Though I am not a store front, the values and drive that go into making a business successful are heavily instilled into me as an individual. Which to me, propels me forward in the most positive ways unimaginable. Running my photography business with no store front has been tough but never impossible. With time, I look to rent a studio out for photoshoots and video shoots with clients.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
It’s inevitable for all of us that it happens or we don’t grow as people, but my biggest fear is failure in my craft. Detrimental failure in my craft scares me most, the possibility of what was made never coming to fruition or growth again. I have had to sit with myself and analyze all things considered when it comes to the feeling of fear when failing in my craft, and as a creative if I don’t hit bumps or make mistakes ill never be able to grow the fire the lies underneath. It is a weird process to go through and somewhat unexplainable, but the fear of failure is what drives me too. Through the failure there’s chance to come back and make it better. After fully analyzing with myself over the topic of fear and what scares me, the fear of failing is just a thought and not a reality unless I let it be. Being able to do something differently is not the same as letting it fall into the category of failure, letting it sit there, then never changing the narrative from a failure to a comeback.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
As I said previously, i’ve known since I was 5 years old that I wanted to work in film and entertainment of some sort. I never grew up around anyone in this field that im trying to pursue so as one of my family members, im breaking the wall of that career endeavor. My fire and drive for this industry will never be put out, and no matter how long it may take the time will always come. Along my journey I have had many setbacks, going through a strike, no’s from producers, even no responses at all after 6+ tries of reaching out, but what’s meant for me is meant for me and I know in my soul this is where I belong. No matter how long it takes.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What will you regret not doing?
When it comes to regret, I live in the mindset of nothing is a regret but a learning experience for the future me ahead. Whether it’s been a relationship, friendship, even my own doing, what I may view as a regret I take as a learning experience. Growing as individuals and living full of regret or having so much regret is unhealthy for the growing person. With every regret there’s a positive sparkle in between to grab from and hold onto which is what I try to do. The feeling of regret can be heavily associated with negativity and I stay as far away from it as possible.
