We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ishwari. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Ishwari, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Who are you learning from right now?
I’m learning from life itself. From my family — my daughter, who finds magic in the smallest things, and my husband, whose calm strength grounds me. They both remind me to slow down, observe, and simply be present. I’m learning from nature — its rhythm, its silence, its perfect balance of light and shadow. From my teachers in the bhakti tradition, who help me deepen my connection with my own heart, with God, and with everyone around me. And from my listeners — their openness reminds me how music can dissolve the distance between souls.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Ishwari — a singer, composer, and producer exploring a diversity of genres, from ambient and electronic to world and devotional music. I love blending textures, rhythms, and emotions to create an atmosphere where people can simply feel. Right now, I’m working on my album All Attractive — a one-woman project that I’m recording, engineering, and mixing myself. It’s a personal journey, full of sounds, contrasts, and colors — I think you might find something unexpected there.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
I’m lucky — I’ve had wonderful teachers, both in my profession and in life. Each of them taught me something different: patience, focus, and the importance of doing things with heart. And as I said earlier, you can learn from everything and everyone — if you stay open, life itself becomes the greatest teacher.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that held me back the most was my own inner voice — the one that whispered, “not good enough.” It made me hesitate to share my truth. Over time, I realized that fear of judgment is just part of being human. But when I create from sincerity instead of expectation, the fear softens. The more I sing, the quieter those doubts become, until they turn into echoes of the music itself.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
When I first met my future husband, he asked what I thought about vegetarians. I laughed and said, “I’ll never be one of those.” But a few years later, something inside me changed. It wasn’t a sudden decision — more like my heart slowly opened. It stopped being about food and became about kindness. One day I realized how strange it is that we call one animal a pet and another a meal. After that, you just see life differently — softer, and somehow more beautiful.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I’ve always been with music. Even when I tried to do something else, it stayed by my side. Somehow, life always brought me back to it — to focus on it and share it with others. The form changes — different ways, different genres — but music is always there, guiding me. It helps me to stay connected, to heal, and to remind others that they’re not alone.
