Good morning Harper, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is a normal day like for you right now?
A typical day for me actually starts the night before. I like to get grounded by reviewing my call sheet and planning for the next day’s job—whether it’s press, editorial, or a red-carpet event. Each type of work has its own rhythm, so I’ll pack my kit to suit the project and the talent I’m working with. I’ll spend some time researching the client, ideating on a vision for their look, and pulling references or mood boards if those are in play. That’s when I get into a creative flow state—cleaning brushes, organizing tools, and mentally preparing for the artistry ahead.
The morning of, I’m always up early. Espresso is a must—sometimes two—before taking my pitbulls for a walk. If I can squeeze it in, I’ll do a quick weightlifting session to get my energy up. Then it’s about pulling myself together: planning my own look and getting dressed in a way that feels both polished and comfortable for the day. By the time I step into work mode, I’m centered, prepared, and ready to collaborate and create.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
M
I’m a hair, makeup and grooming artist, but, I like to think of what I do as storytelling through beauty. My work has taken me around the world, and travel has really shaped my eye—it keeps me inspired, constantly learning, and aware of how beauty trends evolve across different cultures.
Education is huge for me. I’m always making the effort to stay on top of new techniques, innovations, and shifts in hair, makeup, and grooming. The industry moves fast, and I love being right there in the mix, pulling in what’s new while still honoring timeless craft.
At my core, my passion is fashion. I draw so much inspiration from the fashion world, and I love blending that into my artistry. My personal style is really a mix—I’ll happily wear a tailored Gucci suit but pair it with a perfectly broken-in vintage tee or a piece that feels like it has history. That balance of high fashion and individuality is something I also bring to my clients’ looks.
What I think makes my brand unique is that blend: the discipline of keeping my skills sharp, the global perspective I bring from my travels, and the way I infuse a fashion-forward sensibility into everything I create. Beauty, for me, isn’t just about making someone look good—it’s about making them feel like the most elevated, authentic version of themselves
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
When I was about 12, I discovered the magic of makeup. The moment I put it on, people began treating me like an adult, and I remember feeling this incredible sense of confidence and power — like I could step into a bigger version of myself.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to myself, it would be to trust the journey. Every late night of prep, every early morning with espresso in hand, every risk and reinvention has shaped me into the artist I am today. I’d remind myself that my passion for fashion and beauty isn’t just a career—it’s a gift. Keep creating, keep learning, and never underestimate the power of your own vision.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
The project I’m committed to, no matter how long it takes, is building community. For me that means helping neighbors, cleaning up our shared spaces, and making this place feel like home — for myself and for others. It’s about making room at my table, giving what I can, breaking bread together, and taking the time to hear people’s stories. That’s the kind of work that never really ends, and I wouldn’t want it to.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m in that creative flow at work — when I’m with a client, brush in hand, shaping colors and contours, transforming their vision into reality. It’s a quiet kind of magic, a rhythm where time slows, and all that exists is the art we’re making together. That’s when I feel fully present, alive, and exactly where I’m meant to be.
