Story & Lesson Highlights with Ev Marquee of Los Angeles

Ev Marquee shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Ev, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I really value slow mornings because I believe the way you start your day sets the tone for everything that follows. I don’t use an alarm, and I intentionally avoid scheduling any calls or meetings before 10am. My first 90 minutes are simple but very grounding. I usually spend about 30 minutes getting myself ready ~ washing up, doing skincare, choosing an outfit that makes me feel good, adding some adornment, applying oils, and taking a few moments for prayer or simple energy work. After that, I dedicate about an hour to my highest-priority task of the day while my mind is fresh and creative. That way, no matter how the rest of my day unfolds, I know I’ve already shown up for the most important things.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Ev Marquee, and I’m both a visual artist and a healing artist. I’ve been a photographer for over 10 years, capturing the beauty of people and the world around me. Alongside my creative work, I’m also certified in past life regression and quantum healing. In my healing practice, I guide people through gentle hypnosis to uncover and release unprocessed wounds or trauma—whether from this lifetime or previous ones—so they can move forward with greater clarity, freedom, and joy. What makes my work unique is that I bridge the worlds of art and healing, weaving beauty, creativity, and deep inner transformation together.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that has most shaped how I see myself is my relationship with the Divine ~ what I call God. My spiritual path led me back to myself. It helped me understand that I am a fragment of the All, containing the galaxy within me, the beauty of nature expressing itself through me. Everything shifted when I began engaging with the unseen and, in turn, feeling it engage with me. That relationship has given me a sense of belonging, purpose, and remembrance of who I truly am.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
One of the defining wounds of my life was experiencing sexual abuse as a young person, along with growing up with a narcissistic stepfather. Those experiences deeply affected my trust, self-expression, sense of safety, confidence, self-love, and boundaries. My initial path of healing began with Buddhism and studying psychology, which gave me important tools and understanding. But the real turning point came when I began attending Buddhist-based 10-day silent meditation retreats and placing myself in containers designed to help me face everything within me. From there, my journey led me to quantum healing, which taught me how to reclaim my sovereignty and energetically heal. Those practices transformed my pain into purpose and gave me the ability to guide others on their own healing journeys.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would probably say that what really matters to me is feeling safe and at home in my own body, living with honesty and peace, and always seeking expansion and growth. They’d tell you I care deeply about creating a positive impact in the world while also making space for play, travel, adventure, and exploration. Supportive relationships, kindness, and healthy boundaries are also huge priorities for me ~ those are the things that keep me grounded and open at the same time.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had 10 years left, I’d stop living in the U.S. immediately. I’d want to spend my time immersed in cultures that inspire me, surrounded by beauty, community, and nature ~ living somewhere that truly nourishes my spirit.
