Rising Stars: Meet The OT Love Train (Dorothy & Olus) of Houston, Texas

Today we’d like to introduce you to The OT Love Train (Dorothy & Olus).

Hi The OT Love Train, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
We’ve always been creative people at heart. Before becoming full-time content creators, we both built careers in advertising and marketing, where we spent years helping brands tell compelling stories. But back in 2017, while we were dating, we started creating videos together simply as a fun way to express our creativity and document our relationship. What began as a hobby quickly became something we genuinely loved doing together.

As our community grew, so did our ambition. We realized that content creation wasn’t just about entertaining people. It was about building a community around joy, relationships, travel, food, and the little moments that connect us all. That passion has taken us on some incredible journeys, from competing on The Amazing Race Canada to being selected for the YouTube Black Creator Class and collaborating with global brands like Google, YouTube, Dove, FIFA World Cup 26™, Virgin Voyages, Prime Video, Hyatt Hotels, Lyft, and many more.

Today, we’ve taken another leap by relocating from Canada to the United States to grow our business across North America. Every chapter of our journey has been driven by the same thing that inspired us back in 2017: a love for bringing ideas to life, making people smile, and creating stories that help people feel connected.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like most creative journeys, it definitely hasn’t been a straight line. One of the biggest challenges has been navigating the constant changes that come with the creator economy. Algorithms evolve, platforms shift, and what works one month may not work the next. Learning how to adapt without losing your creative identity has been one of our biggest lessons.

Another challenge has been avoiding creator burnout. When your passion also becomes your business, it’s easy to feel like you always need to be creating. We’ve had to learn the importance of taking breaks, protecting our creativity, and remembering why we started in the first place.

We’ve also become passionate about building community within the creator space. Finding people who truly understand the highs and lows of this industry isn’t always easy, but having a network of creators who support, encourage, and learn from one another has made a huge difference in our journey.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At our core, we’re storytellers.

We’re a couple comedy and lifestyle creator duo that creates entertaining, relatable content around relationships, travel, food, culture, and the everyday moments that connect people. While our videos often make people laugh, they’re really about helping people feel seen. Whether it’s navigating marriage, exploring a new city, trying something for the first time, or turning an ordinary date into an adventure, we believe the best stories are the ones people recognize themselves in.

What we’re most proud of isn’t a follower count or a single campaign. It’s the community we’ve built. Knowing that hundreds of thousands of people choose to spend part of their day with us, laugh with us, and follow our journey is something we never take for granted. Even more rewarding is hearing that our content has inspired people to travel more, communicate better with their partners, or simply find a little more joy in everyday life.

What sets us apart is that we’re genuinely living the stories we tell. We don’t create characters for the internet. We simply invite people into our lives. Whether it’s competing on The Amazing Race Canada, being selected for the YouTube Black Creator Class, relocating from Canada to the United States, or documenting the highs and lows of building both a marriage and a business together, our audience grows with us because every chapter is real. We believe authenticity, curiosity, and a willingness to laugh at ourselves will always outlast trends, and that’s the foundation we’ve built The OT Love Train on.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
The biggest piece of advice we can give is to genuinely love what you’re creating. Trends come and go, algorithms change, and growth isn’t always linear. If you’re only chasing numbers, it’s easy to become discouraged. But if you enjoy the process of creating, you’ll keep showing up, and that’s where real growth happens.

Stay curious. Never stop learning, experimenting, and improving your craft. The creators who continue to evolve are the ones who stay relevant.

Finally, build relationships. Some of the biggest opportunities we’ve had didn’t come from going viral. They came from genuine connections with other creators, brands, and people who believed in what we were building. This industry is incredibly collaborative, and kindness, professionalism, and authenticity go a very long way.
