Hi KELLIE, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always thought that life happens in the details…like, when someone replies to your text instantly or when you finally find the comfortable sleeping position. It’s going to bed knowing that you can sleep in as long as you want, finding money in a pocket, a compliment from a stranger…that moment when the laugh is funnier than the joke, or you see your food coming in a restaurant…the big picture is the goal…but, life happens in the details.

Life ALSO isn’t a staged set. It’s a beautiful, chaotic spin cycle. ​People often ask me why I’m obsessed with the ‘unfiltered’ side of a wedding day. To me, the best stories aren’t found in the perfectly fluffed dress or the stiff, posed portraits. They’re found in the grit, the laughter, and the spontaneous moments that happen when you aren’t looking, the parts of the day that are beautifully human.

​As a journalistic photographer, I don’t just ‘take pictures.’ I sort through the noise to find the soul of your celebration. Whether it’s a quiet moment in the ‘delicate cycle’ or the high-energy ‘spin’ of your reception, I’m there to document it all; no fluff, no filters, just your story, freshly pressed and preserved forever.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh, what a wonderful question! When I look back on my journey with KNHT Photography, I think it’s so important to share that while the path hasn’t always been perfectly paved, every single twist and turn has been part of a truly beautiful, evolving tapestry. In the world of weddings, my business motto is that “life happens in the details,” and sometimes those details involve navigating the unexpected, whether that’s helping a couple reschedule their dream day due to life’s profound challenges, like job transitions or personal health journeys, or simply managing the intricate, fast-paced logistics of capturing memories that must last a lifetime.

My biggest struggle, and ultimately my greatest reward, has been learning that being a photographer is about so much more than just technical skill. It’s about being a steady support system for my couples when they are going through their own seasons of growth, change, or difficulty. There have been moments where I’ve had to find the grace to say, “Take your time, heal, and I will be here for you when you’re ready.”

That kind of connection requires a vulnerability that isn’t always easy, but it’s what makes the final images so much more than just pixels on a screen. Every challenge I’ve faced has been an opportunity to practice deeper empathy and to show my couples that I am truly invested in them, not just their wedding day. I am deeply grateful for every hurdle, because they’ve taught me that my purpose is to hold space for love, in all its messy, authentic, and breathtaking forms. It has been a road of growth, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I consider myself a visual storyteller who believes that the most profound love stories aren’t just seen, they are deeply, vibrantly felt.

I specialize in wedding photography and love stories, where my primary focus is creating a sanctuary for my couples. Whether I am documenting a full day of wedding celebrations or intimate, intentional back yard sessions, my craft is about capturing the elegance of the journey, not just the destination. I treat the camera as a bridge, allowing me to step into my couples’ worlds and translate their love into imagery that feels timeless.

I am most proud of the radical trust I have built with my clients. It isn’t just about the final gallery; it’s about the safe, supportive space I create for them on their most vulnerable and joyful day. Knowing that my couples felt seen, heard, and held by me throughout their experience, long before the first shutter click, is my greatest achievement. To me, a beautiful photograph is just the byproduct of a beautiful, trusting relationship.

Many photographers capture images, but I strive to capture energy. I don’t just show up to work a contract; I show up to be a pillar of calm, grace, and empathy. I treat every wedding not as a transaction, but as a sacred privilege, bringing a blend of technical expertise and deep emotional intuition to ensure that every frame tells a story that is uniquely, undeniably, and beautifully theirs.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I think we are moving away from heavily orchestrated posing and toward what I call “the truth of the day”. Couples are prioritizing the unscripted moments, the nervous laugh, the stolen glance, and the spontaneous joy, over the rigid, magazine-style direction of the past. It’s about preserving the soul of the moment exactly as it unfolded.

Then, we have the tactile revival of film. There is such a profound beauty in the revival of 35mm film. Its grain, warmth, and nostalgic texture offer an imperfect magic that digital sensors simply cannot replicate. I believe we will continue to see photographers blending digital precision with the deliberate, soulful pace of film to create a multi-dimensional gallery.

Maybe even the biggest change is the push of hybrid coverage. Couples today are viewing their wedding through a multi-faceted lens, often integrating professional documentary photography with social-first, motion-focused content—like short-form, candid clips—to share the energy of their day in real-time. It’s about creating a holistic narrative that lives in both our physical albums and our digital social spaces
