Rising Stars: Meet Elvira Zamora of Canoga Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elvira Zamora.

Hi Elvira, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story, as of 2026 is a lot of growth and great future to look forward to. I am now an official TEDx Speaker about my industry as an upcycle designer. My brand at Thrifs.com is all about responsible fashion and sustainability for the future of our planet. We do not have to sacrifice our passion for style in order to make a difference for our future. I continue to push my message, stay creative and encourage people through education and art that sustainability is possible without compromise.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been smooth at all. It is a lot of training, discipline and of course many hours of sacrifice in order to be able to achieve all that I have so far and there is more to come and I am ready to put in the work.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work since 2001 has been about fashion design. There is something special that happens when you feel good, when a person can express who they are and what makes them unique. My mission has been to show people what the power of personal style can do to change the way you present yourself in any situation.
I am most proud of what I have been able to accomplish so far without giving up. What sets me apart from others is that I lead with heart, passion and purpose. Most business people are thinking about money first, which works for them. I lead my business and art the same as my ancestors by doing what feels good in my spirit and the rewards will follow if I stay true to myself.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
The only advice that I could give, is never lose focus. Keep your eye on the prize and your why. Let that fuel you and keep you grinding and learning to achieve what you want.
What I wish I knew when starting out was to fully believe and invest in myself. I have had to battle imposter syndrome for so long and I know it is what has kept me from going in 100%.
