Today we’d like to introduce you to Cee Ashley Abram.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Let my family tell it, even as a little tot, I was wise beyond my years. Growing up, my childhood was, like most urban city kids in the ’90s, dysfunctional yet fun all in one.
I knew God early on. Not because I was forced by my mom or family, but simply because I could always feel His presence in my upbringing. For that reason, my perspective on life, faith, self-belief, and love was different.
The foundation of my brand, my work, and my words is deeply rooted. I’ve always ministered to and spoken life over myself so much that my community began saying, “You have to share your wisdom and motivation with the world., and so I created Cee x Notes.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In the beginning, no, it came easy because the thoughts and feelings ran through my mind all day; they’re a part of who I am. Now, I can feel the struggle. It doesn’t feel good to publish something only to see it being snatched, reproduced, and relabeled by someone else.
Now, more than ever, I understand why Erykah Badu said, “…keep in mind that I’m an artist, and I’m sensitive about my….” LOL. But besides that, my followers, my online community, are so supportive and amazing. Honestly, they make it easy.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
When I’m not online, I’m a mental health junky. I’m a special education teacher (moderate/severe), a clinical counseling student (I’ll be licensed next year), and a forensic and behavioral practitioner.
I love challenges, and I enjoy meeting people where they are, connecting with them, and helping them discover their light and strengths. I’m known for helping populations that other people would walk away from.
I don’t think people understand how powerful and capable we are, and God is making sure I’m the one to tell them.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I can’t want something more for a person than they want for themselves. And spiritual warfare is real. We are spiritual beings living in a wild and physical world, so nothing about behavior surprises me.
But most importantly, transformation is the key to life. If you can’t transform the way you think, you will be left behind.
Meaning, you have to be willing to evolve. You can’t keep thinking the same way, responding the same way, and expecting different results. Growth requires you to challenge what you know, examine what you believe, and be willing to become someone different from who you were.
