Rising Stars: Meet Camilla Sacre-Dallerup of LA/Palm Desert

Today we’d like to introduce you to Camilla Sacre-Dallerup.

Hi Camilla, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story really starts on the dance floor. I spent years as a professional dancer, and that world taught me discipline, resilience, and how to perform under pressure. I went on to become a Champion on UK’s version of Dancing with the Stars (Strictly Come Dancing) and later served as Head Judge on the New Zealand version of DWTS. From the outside, it looked glamorous, and it was, but it was also relentless. Competing at that level teaches you a lot about the mind, nerves, focus, and what it actually takes to show up as your best self when it counts.

That’s really where the seeds of my company Zenme were planted. The more I leaned into the mental side of performance, the more I became fascinated by mindset work, and eventually that curiosity led me to train as an NLP Master Practitioner, Life Coach, and Hypnotherapist and become certified in the tools I now use every day with clients. I wanted to take everything I’d learned about the power of the mind, limiting beliefs, focus, and self-belief under pressure, and turn it into something practical that other people could actually use in their own lives, not just performers or dancers.

That’s how Zenme was born. Subconscious mindset work through Hypnosis, meditation, sound baths, and mindfulness, built from real experience rather than just theory. What started as one-on-one coaching has grown into something much bigger. My meditations have been streamed over a million times on platforms like Insight Timer, Unplug, and DARE, I’ve written three self-help books, and today, as well as my one-on-one coaching, I bring Zenme into corporate spaces, resorts, and retreats, helping teams and guests reset in as little as 30 minutes, teambuild, and set goals. I still find it surreal some days that a journey which began in sequins and ballroom shoes led me here, but honestly, it all connects. It’s always been about helping people find their footing, whether that’s on a dance floor or in their own mind.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly, no. It’s never been a straight line. Firstly becomming a champion took me 20 years to have an overnight success as they say, which I talk about in my first book Dream, Believe, Succeed. And leaving my first career as a dancer wasn’t something that just happened easily. I got to a point in my life where I felt empty and stuck, with no more passion or anything left to give in that career. I walked away from dancing at the top of my game, when things were going well by every outside measure, and chose to start over completely. I moved countries, left behind the identity I’d built my whole adult life around, and had to build a brand new career from scratch with no guarantee any of it would work.

That takes a different kind of resilience than competing does. On the dance floor, you know the steps, you’ve trained for years, and even when it’s hard, there’s a structure to hold onto. Reinventing yourself has no structure. You’re figuring it out as you go, and there were plenty of moments I doubted myself, wondered if I’d made a mistake, or felt like I was starting from zero in my mid 30’s while everyone else seemed to already know where they were going.

But looking back, everything from that first career prepared me for the second one more than I realized at the time. The discipline, the belief, and deep trust you have to hold onto when you and nobody else can see the outcome yet, the ability to keep showing up even when it’s uncomfortable, that’s exactly what carried me through building Zenme. And it’s exactly what I now help my coaching clients tap into. When someone is standing at the edge of their own reinvention, unsure and a little scared, I’m not just coaching them from theory. I’ve lived it. I know what it feels like to leave something that defined you and trust that something new is on the other side before you can see it.

That’s really the heart of what I try to give people through my books too and why I wrote my secomd book Reinvent ME. You don’t need to see the whole path before you’re allowed to take the first step. I certainly didn’t. You just need to believe reinvention is possible and keep following that next most aligned step.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At its core, my work is about helping people access the power of their own mind. Through Zenme, I offer one-on-one coaching, hypnotherapy, meditation, and sound bath work, and I bring all of that into corporate spaces, resorts, and retreats as well, helping teams and guests reset, refocus, and reconnect. I specialize in subconscious mindset work. That means going beyond surface-level advice and actually helping people shift patterns and the beliefs sitting underneath their behavior, the ones that quietly hold them back without them even realizing it.

I’m probably best known for the meditations I’ve put out into the world. They’ve been streamed over a million times across platforms like Insight Timer, Unplug, and DARE, which still amazes me when I stop to think about it. I’ve also written three self-help books, and I speak publicly on mindset and reinvention, something I’ve now been doing for almost two decades.

What I’m most proud of isn’t a number or a platform though, it’s watching someone walk into a session feeling stuck, and walk out having genuinely shifted something in how they feel and how they see themselves. That transformation is why I do this work.

As for what sets me apart, I’m a coach who walks the walk. I don’t just teach the principles, I’ve lived them under pressure. They’re tried and tested, and I still use every one of these tools myself, in my own life and my own daily practice. I’m huge on giving my clients practical mind tools they can actually use in their daily lives, not just concepts to think about. I’ve also lived a full reinvention myself, leaving one career at the top of my game and building an entirely new one from scratch, in a new country, with no map to follow. So when I sit in front of a client, or a room full of executives, and talk about resilience, belief, or navigating uncertainty, it comes from experience, not a textbook. I combine that lived understanding with real practical tools, hypnotherapy and subconscious mindset work.

What does success mean to you?
For me, success is feeling content when I wake up in the morning. That’s really the simplest way I can put it, but it’s been a journey to get here. Getting to that place takes real inner work. It means taking the time to actually understand my own purpose, rather than going through the motions of a career or a life that looks good from the outside, or doing what others expect, or what we think we should be doing, instead of what we actually want to be doing. I also think success means making space and time in our lives for the things that truly matter to us, whether that’s balance between our careers and our family lives, or going after the things that drive us most. That’s different for everybody, but it’s important to define for yourself what success really means to you.

Once you understand that purpose, the next step is figuring out how to turn it into service, how what lights you up can actually be helpful to other people. Because in my experience, the satisfaction that comes from that kind of work is beyond anything else. It’s different from ambition or achievement for its own sake.

I understand that not everyone agrees with this, but in both my careers, dancing and now Zenme, I’ve turned my purpose and passion into a career, and that has given me a job satisfaction that makes me feel content in life. Feeling fulfilled and content, more than anything else, that’s success to me.
