My name is Tracy Yun, and I am the founder of the TN Esthetics Center, located in the picturesque city of Cerritos, California. With thirteen years of experience in the industry, I have successfully operated a health and wellness day spa that distinguishes itself through its FDA-approved non-invasive skincare, body care rejuvenation, and intravenous therapy infusion treatments. The journey to my current position has not been without its challenges, similar to those faced by many entrepreneurs.
I established my business in 2013 while pursuing my studies at California State University, Long Beach, where I discovered my passion for lash extensions. My vision was straightforward: to share my passion with others. This ambition led to the founding of Seductive Lashes by TN within a modest 110 square-foot room. Through perseverance and commitment, my business has experienced significant growth and has since undergone a rebranding to become the TN Esthetics Center, which now encompasses over 1500 square feet. Our team, made up of dedicated medical providers, nurses, and esthetics professionals, serves hundreds of clients each month. We consistently prioritize customer satisfaction as our foremost objective. Even during the most challenging periods, such as the Covid-19 pandemic, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to providing high quality treatments with the utmost care, ensuring that we do not compromise our standards. Recognizing the difficulties presented by these times, we are dedicated to being present for our clients and continue to offer superior services.
Our mission is to provide premier treatments accompanied by excellent customer service and remarkable results. These principles have led to our consistent attainment of five-star reviews over the past thirteen years and our feature on Destination LA, Season 2, on CBS, as one of the top thirty premier businesses that must be tried in Los Angeles.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a business is a formidable endeavor, often accompanied by significant obstacles. It is reported that approximately 5% of new businesses fail within their initial five years, and only 40% endure for ten years, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. My own experience as a business owner has included both successes and challenges, reflecting this statistic.
For thirteen years, I have dedicated myself to my business. There have been moments of uncertainty regarding my ability to persevere, particularly during the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic. By maintaining focus and dedication, my business thrived; however, certain events, such as natural disasters, are beyond our control, regardless of expertise. Nevertheless, these trying circumstances serve to test our resilience as entrepreneurs.
One particularly notable challenge arose in 2020, when the lockdown led to substantial financial losses. My revenue diminished, and there were regrettable incidents of looting in my vicinity. During this period, I sought a new location and discovered the office space we currently occupy. Despite my repeated requests to view the space, the owner was initially reluctant to show it, concerned about the viability of my business. However, I remained persistent. After numerous attempts, I successfully signed the lease for the new facility.
There were also instances when I had to take calculated risks to expand my business and explore financing options. Upon reflecting on those decisions, I recognize that they were quite daunting. I acknowledge that additional challenges will inevitably arise in the future, but I am committed to continuing my efforts to achieve success. I maintain the belief that achievement is predominantly a result of a strong mindset and the courage to persist.

Over the years, I’ve gained valuable skills and experienced tremendous personal growth, but I’ve also learned that having a strong mindset is the true foundation of success. There will always be moments when others may question your vision or when circumstances feel uncertain. In those times, it’s essential to stay grounded in your purpose, trust your instincts, think creatively, and take thoughtful, calculated risks.
Success is never achieved alone. I believe in remaining humble through every stage of growth and showing gratitude to those who support your journey. It’s also important to release any resentment toward those who may have doubted or taken advantage of you early on. Forgiveness brings clarity, and with clarity comes peace, which allows you to move forward with strength and purpose.
