Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Mejia.
Stephanie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Growing up in Hollywood it was always “the dream” to become a successful entrepreneur. However, I did not realize what my passion was until I married my wife, Valeria. She would watch me come home from work and use my creativity to make dinner after a stressful day. That is when she pointed out that I loved cooking and all I can remember was that she was crazy.
Crazy enough to believe in me and see something that I was missing for many years. Having security background and not knowing a single thing about a kitchen I quit my job in 2017 and purchased a run-down taco trailer which was rebuilt into what should have been Burgerama on wheels. We took the trailer out on the streets for about two months and not a single soul would come up to buy from us. After the neighbors broke our windows and slashed our tires many times, I decided to sell the trailer and return back into the workforce.
Then in July of 2018, we discovered our location in Valley Village with our business partner who quit on me three weeks after opening. After a minor breakdown, my wife Val quit her full-time job and reassured me that we were going to succeed together and sure enough we continue to work as a team nine months later.
Has it been a smooth road?
Running a restaurant with a two people operation and having no prior kitchen experience has been an obstacle itself. However, with time we have learned to execute large numbers of crowds and continue growing together to one day be the example for other strong independent women and show them that they can accomplish any goal.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Burgerama – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Burgerama is a family owned that specializes in making creative gourmet burgers. The love and flavor put into each burger is what sets us apart from our competition. We also build relationships with our customers and make them feel at home.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I love about our city is meeting all the new people who relocate from all over the country. Our city is filled with many hidden talents. The only thing I dislike is the traffic but other than that we are golden!

Stephanie❣️Congratulations! I’m so proud of my former student Stephanie. She is following her dreams and her passions and she has a dedicated and loving partner working right along beside her, encouraging her and supporting her! I went to visit her and meet up with another former student and I was so impressed with the quality of the meet, the presentation, the friendly attitude, the cleanliness, and the creativity and positivity that was bouncing off the walls! Take a little trip out to the valley and check out some of their incredible gourmet burgers! You won’t be disappointed! And tell them Ms. Aldahl sent you
