Meet Shenika Travis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shenika Travis.

SHENIKA TRAVIS is an actress, singer and dancer from Long Beach, CA. A CSU, Fullerton grad, she majored in Theatre Arts, starring in several professional theatrical productions such as ‪FOR COLORED GIRLS‬; SHAKESPEARE’S ‪A MIDSUMMER N‬IGHT’S DREAM; PEACE BE STILL (NAACP WIN) and RUINED while honing her talent in musical theater, TV and film. She has worked on serval AFI short films, independent feature films and now is determined to land role(s) on TV and film/theaters near you! 🙂

Currently, she is a Performing Arts instructor at a charter school is South
Central, LA. Where she gives back to a community that’s facing poverty and has no access (nor finances) to the Arts.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely! I’m still facing them. However, the great thing about this is the challenges you come against will cause you to be an overcomer and find a greater solution. Once you tackle that struggle, you’ll see growth and strength in you. Trust it you’ll be ready for the next level.

Little advice for you, BE UNSTOPPABLE!

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
Being an Actress in Los Angeles is pretty tuff and hard work! However, once you have a passion for it and have peace of mind it’s all worth it.

What sets me apart is, – I have the most fun by walking into a room and changing the atmosphere to a fun, welcoming and full of laughter environment! This can be anywhere, at home, workplace, restaurant, etc. Family and friends will say I’m unpredictable, you’ll never know what I’ll do but I will have you laughing 🙂

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My determination and discipline! Not giving up! Remaining hopeful 🙂
