Meet Posh McKoy

Today we’d like to introduce you to POSH McKoy.

After earning two degrees from North Carolina Central University, POSH joined the Nordstrom family as Trend Manager for two years. Unsatisfied with the pace of the south, he interviewed for Saks, Bergdorf & Neiman’s as a stylist, and was offered all three jobs. After careful selection, he chose Saks headquarters to be a men’s luxury stylist. After gaining high-profile clientele in just six months of working there, he was offered an internship with Vogue stylist Patrick Mackie from his mentor, now Bustle Market Editor, Ryan Gale. POSH, learning the intricacies of editorial world alongside celebrity appearances, quickly grasped and produced covers and memorable outfits up until he was ready to go after exactly what he wanted; red carpet styling. After obtaining his first assistant job for Lynda Carter (the original Wonder Woman), he began to move through the world of assistantship all while building his own brand. To date, he’s created and assisted on 12 covers, seven music videos, three commercials, 2 TV shows, amongst copious other entities. In the midst of COVID-19 and the heartbreaking truths of racism being brought to the light, POSH McKoy powers through any and every obstacle in strides of mirroring the accomplishments and career of his hero, and now boss, Law Roach.”

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
My aesthetic will ALWAYS be glam with an edge. I’ve studied the biggest and most innovative designers and stylists of all time, and what I’ve realized is – that ingenuity is the common denominator in achieving greatness. When you book POSH, you book a luxury experience. From the introduction email all the way down to the day of the appearance, you will see humor, strength, cunning, kindness, and most importantly; exclusivity.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
No luck, only blessings and calculated risks, nothing I do is by chance or random, there’s a subconscious plan to everything. What separates good from great, is explicit planning!
