Meet Mohsen Ahangarani of M2A Solutions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mohsen Ahangarani.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Mohsen. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was this lucky little kid who had the chance to see his sister; who is a professional watercolor painter, bring life to the canvas. With her encouragement, and my passion for creation, I started painting and whenever she had an exhibition I was there with my little pieces trying to sell them to the crowd like in the early 90’s.

Eventually, I learned how to use computers and programming from my brothers and I was loving it. By then, internet was becoming more and more popular and I was thirsty to learn. Merged my genes for design and my programming skills to be able to create my first web pages. I returned my sister’s favor with her first website back in 1998. Got admitted to SBU university in Tehran to study Applied Mathematics and met my friend Alireza who was a professional website designer, just sat by him for days and did the hard work to help him and what I learned from him is still the core of my business today. One thing led to another, I became the webmaster of the university and formed my own company and here I am now almost 20 years later!

Many people ask where I get the name M2A from, it is actually the abbreviation for my full name, M.M.A (Mohsen Mashayekh Ahangarani), which I changed it to M2A when I learn about power in math back in middle school. It is funny but I was telling my friends back then, I will have this company and I will name it M2A… well it happened.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My favorite quote is “From struggle comes success.”

Call me crazy but there is this fire in me for challenges, when things become stable and smooth, it starts bothering me. That was the main reason me and my wife moved to the states. Everything had become stable in my business and hers back in Iran where we are born and raised and we thought you know what, it is boring! Let’s go somewhere else and start from scratch.

I can tell you, this was one of the biggest challenges of my life. Formed the M2A Solutions corporation as soon as I got here but it took me almost 2 years to build a network of clients. Everything was brand new to me, from simple things like banking all the way to more complicated matters like marketing. I was very fortunate to meet with fantastic people and clients who led me where I am now.

What I love the most about our business is, every new project we get, is a challenge of its own, from winning the contract, getting to know the client, understanding their business and their needs and translating that into a digital asset, whatever it is, a website, a graphic piece of work, or implementing marketing techniques to boost their sales.
