Meet Lyon Nguyen of Westminster, Orange County ,CA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyon Nguyen.

Hi Lyon, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
10 years ago I just graduated highschool I haven’t decided what to do . I started college in Santa ana and felt that it was working for me so i decide to drop out and then I was working out at a gym and that’s when I met my mentor at his juice bar business in a LA Fitness from there we built an amazing friendship throughout the years .He taught how to talk to people , teaching different languages and even help me into the film industry where I started doing 2nd AD/Slate learning more and continuing learning everyday.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has never been a smooth road but it was worthwhile there lesson and struggles making me a better person . Time where I had no money to eat . Or when I had self doubt to do a project .

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work as Slate or 2nd AD (assistant director) . I’m known for being the “Slate guy” because everytime my editor sees me doing the scene he’s like ” oh look it’s the stale guy lyon” . I’m proud of loving what I do even through the hours are long it’s fun and I enjoy every second of it . What’s different about me is that I do get along with almost all the cast and crew I like to get to know about people .

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Not taking risk is the biggest regret anyone can do . I took a lot of risk in my life like making a new business venture , making new friends that helped me in life . One of my biggest risk was making a movie with my friend and we stayed up all night writing the script find investors and even marketing it.
