Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Lobo.
Hi Lauren, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey with LoboLashes started from a mix of creativity, curiosity, and honestly, a little bit of frustration. I’ve always loved beauty and self-expression, especially when it comes to a
Iittle makeup and lashes completely transform how you feel and show up. What began as me experimenting with different styles and selling at pop-ups gradually turned into a full business as I realized how many women were looking for lashes that were both beautiful and easy to use.
Over the years, I’ve grown LoboLashes from the ground up—learning everything from product development to marketing on my own, while building a community of women who want to feel confident and elevated in their everyday look. I’ve been running the business for several years now, and each phase has taught me something new about what my customers truly need.
Last year was a turning point for me. I developed a severe case of blepharitis after dealing with ongoing sensitivity in my eyes that was heightened by hormonal changes. I would get recurring styes, and it forced me to really pause and reevaluate the purpose of my business and who do I truly want to help. That experience was frustrating, but it also gave me clarity. It reminded me that beauty should never come at the cost of comfort or eye health.
That’s what pushed me to fully commit to magnetic lashes this year. I wanted to continue introducing and educating this solution for women like me—women who love lashes but don’t want the irritation, the glue, or the complicated application process. My goal is to break the stigma that lashes are difficult or uncomfortable and replace it with something that feels effortless, safe, and empowering.
Today, LoboLashes is not just about selling lashes—it’s about giving women a beauty experience that fits into their real lives. Whether you have ten minutes to get ready or you’re dealing with sensitive eyes like I was, you still deserve to feel put together and confident.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m going into my ninth year with LoboLashes, and I still feel like I haven’t had that one big breakthrough moment yet. But at the same time, I know deep down that I’m sitting on a million-dollar product. My confidence in the brand doesn’t come from overnight success—it comes from the consistency, the loyal customers who keep coming back, and the proof that even in slower seasons, the business is still standing and growing in its own way.
There have been a lot of challenges along the way. I’ve had to learn almost everything on my own—product development, marketing, operations—while essentially running the business solo, aside from some help from my mom on the back end. Figuring out what I didn’t know, while still trying to keep everything afloat, was one of the hardest parts. On top of that, I’ve had to navigate rising product costs, tariffs, and the constant pressure of making sure the business stays profitable.
Then there’s the physical side of building this brand. I’ve spent years doing pop-up shops in every condition you can think of—hot days, cold nights, windy setups—just to get in front of people and share my product. Those moments really test you, especially when you’re putting in long hours and don’t always see immediate results.
Another challenge was introducing something new. Magnetic lashes weren’t always familiar to people, so I had to take on the role of educator as well. It wasn’t just about selling a product—it was about showing women how it works, helping them feel comfortable using it, and making sure that confidence lasts long after they walk away.
Even with all of that, I wouldn’t trade the journey. Every challenge has built a level of resilience and belief in my brand that I don’t think I could have gotten any other way. It’s given me a strong foundation, and I know that when that breakthrough does come, I’ll be fully ready for it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in creating magnetic lashes that are designed to be easy, comfortable, and actually wearable for real life—especially for women who have struggled with traditional lashes. Over the years, I’ve put a lot of focus into understanding not just how lashes should look, but how they should feel and function for everyday use.
What I’m known for, and what really sets LoboLashes apart, is that my magnetic lashes don’t require glue, liner, or complicated steps. They’re designed for convenience, but also with sensitivity in mind. A lot of my customers come to me after feeling left out of the beauty space—whether it’s because of sensitive eyes, allergies, or just bad past experiences with lashes—and I’ve been able to give them an option that finally works for them.
On a more personal level, I truly believe I was born to encourage people and help them see their own beauty and confidence, both inside and out. This business has become an extension of that. It’s about how they feel when they put the lashes on, look in the mirror, and carry out that confidence into the world.
What I’m most proud of is the impact, even when I don’t always hear about it directly. I’ll see a returning customer place an order after a year or two, and it reminds me that these lashes lasted, that they trusted the product, and that it stayed a part of their routine. Moments like that let me know there are so many women out there quietly feeling more confident because of something I created.
And I think that’s what really sets me apart—I’m not just selling to the typical lash wearer. I’m creating for the woman who thought lashes weren’t for her at all…and then realizing they actually are.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about Los Angeles is that there’s truly something for everybody. No matter who you are or what you’re chasing, you can find your place here. There’s an energy in the city that makes you feel alive—especially when you’re surrounded by like-minded people who are building, creating, and going after their goals. I’ve been fortunate to find a community of driven, like-minded businesswomen here, and that alone has been so inspiring and motivating for me.
I also love the opportunities. This city really allows you to dream bigger. There’s always something happening, always a door that can open if you’re willing to put yourself out there.
On the flip side, the traffic can be exhausting, and the cost of living is definitely a challenge. It can feel like you’re constantly trying to keep up. I also wish the city was cleaner and that more could be done to address homelessness in a meaningful, long-term way.
Overall though, it’s a city that pushes you—and if you’re willing to grow with it, there’s a lot it can give back.
