Hi Jessica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey in the visual arts began with a deep passion for graphic design, typography, and visual storytelling. Studying visual communication at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Kinshasa allowed me to sharpen my understanding of how art, design, and identity interact in contemporary culture.
Observing the vibrant creative energy around me, I realized there was a vital need for a dedicated space that documents, elevates, and archives contemporary African visual art with high editorial and aesthetic standards. This realization led to the founding of REG’ART, a digital cultural platform and art magazine.
Through REG’ART, I serve as Founder and Creative Director, aiming to build a bridge between traditional heritage, graphic systems, and modern artistic expressions. What started as a personal passion for visual culture has grown into a platform dedicated to highlighting emerging artists, curating visual stories, and offering a sophisticated lens on contemporary art from Kinshasa to the world.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Building REG’ART independently has certainly come with its share of challenges. One of the main hurdles has been creating a high-end digital publication from Kinshasa that meets global design and editorial standards without immediate institutional funding.
Balancing academic commitments with curating, designing, and managing an independent magazine requires intense discipline. Additionally, archiving contemporary African art while researching historical visual motifs—such as traditional graphic systems and local iconographies—demands continuous effort to ensure cultural accuracy and respect.
Navigating the logistics of digital publishing and gaining international visibility while staying rooted in our local artistic ecosystem has been a gradual process, but every challenge has strengthened the magazine’s identity and commitment to its vision.

I am a graphic designer, visual communicator, and the Founder & Creative Director of REG’ART magazine. I specialize in visual identity, editorial design, typography, and visual curation, focusing deeply on contemporary African visual culture and historical iconography.
Through REG’ART, I curate editorial features and visual series that highlight emerging African artists while exploring traditional graphic systems, historical scripts, and cultural motifs. What I am most proud of is creating a sophisticated platform that archives and elevates these artistic narratives with high aesthetic standards directly from Kinshasa.
What sets my work apart is the balance between a minimal, high-contrast, and luxury editorial aesthetic and deep research into African heritage. Rather than following transient trends, I approach design as a bridge between historical cultural memory and modern visual expressions.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Building REG’ART has been a collaborative effort deeply supported by an inspiring creative network.
First and foremost, I am immensely grateful to the professors and mentors at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Kinshasa, whose academic guidance, critical feedback, and passion for visual arts have played a foundational role in refining my practice and vision.
I also want to credit the incredible community of emerging artists, curators, and cultural practitioners in Kinshasa, Lagos, and beyond who trust REG’ART with their stories and artwork—with a special mention to my Nigerian audience and community, whose active engagement and support have been instrumental in driving the magazine forward. Lastly, my family and close friends have been constant supporters since day one.
