Meet Jenna Stewart of The Health Coach Gals

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna Stewart.

Jenna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born a dancer. I lived and breathed dance well up into my 30s. When I was 18, I went against everything my parents wanted me to do and set out to be a professional dancer. Talk about swimming with sharks. The professional dance world consists of some of the most beautiful and athletic people in the world. It also consists of a dump trunk of pain and rejection- both physical and mental. I learned I had to take care of my mind & body through food, exercise, pain management and a lot of books. I’ve been through debilitating injuries, weight issues, cancer scares, losing loved ones to cancer, child birth, divorce, multiple careers/businesses and pretty much everything life has to offer…Through all of the ups and (extreme) downs, I have learned one thing – I CAN HANDLE ALL OF IT!

In this crazy world, we all tend to forget how to take care of ourselves and stop comparing ourselves to what we see on social media. It has taken me 44 years to get to where I am today in terms of body, mind & soul health, and I have to say it wasn’t easy (and still SO much to learn). I’ve studied many self-help spiritual gurus, neuroscientists, spiritual workshops, business development, business gurus, fitness trends, diet trends, healing chronic illness/disease through food and I even went so far as to become a myofascial release therapist to manage my own pain of 2 herniated discs and chronic back pain.

(I also went to Le Cordon Bleu to become a licensed chef because, well, I LOVE FOOD.)

Healing Foods has become my passion. Most of the population has little to no education on the benefits of foods and the actual medicinal properties. Food heals! Every day I strive as a chef to share information about how we can create new healthy eating habits and still enjoy what we eat. I DO NOT PROMOTE DIETS. I promote LIVITS- eat what you love but do it mindfully so your body can process it and actually benefit from it. Being the mother to my overweight daughter made me realize the importance of education her on health and vitality. She’s 17 now and has lost 25 lbs, loves to cook and exercises regularly!

I hope this gives you little insight to the extensive research I have done with food, exercise, hormones, relationships, self-care, parenting, etc.… I’m not a coach that thinks she knows better, I’m a coach that has gone through the trenches herself! I never set out to be a health and life coach, it has just become my evolution.

Has it been a smooth road?
Never a smooth road.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with The Health Coach Gals – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
My best friend and partner, Seana Mahoney, started The Health Coach Gals when we realized collectively we had a lot to offer. Both of our lives have been spent helping and coaching our friends and family just as default. We decided to “level up” and start a business to better the world! As a licensed chef, I specialize in health from the inside out. Most of our population was never taught how to eat properly. Our bodies are our foundations and yet we beat them up with theshit we put in our mouths. My focus is educating as many as I can on how to (re)build their fragile foundations. I am most proud of the results I see once my clients have completed our 90 TotalTransformational Program…I (we) are changing lives! What sets The Health Coach Gals apart from others is that Seana and I focus on self-mapping- we meet people where they are at and curate a personal plan. Our program is a step by step mind shift to living your best life.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The fact that everyday has potential for so much opportunity and creativity! The food, the art, the little nooks of areas that hold the heart of the community.
