Meet Gavriil Shchitsyn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gavriil Shchitsyn.

Hi Gavriil, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve started flying drones in 2018 and then in 2019 became a Russian champion in drone racing. Then inspired by the johnyfpv videos I admired making a drift video just as him . And accidentally a car commercial director saw me flying from a Tribune, and by the fortune of life he was scouting the shoot for tomorrow . Somehow he ve found my Instagram and asked me if im avaliable. This was my first time shooting a commercial . Everyone was impressed by the shots they ve got and the word of mouth have started working on me . Then I ve started learning not only how to fly but also how to shoot and how to use 100% of fpv drone potential into getting the most unique shots and slowly getting into an industry. Nowadays I m mostly shooting feature films and not only focused unto an fpv but all in all aerial shooting. Mastering the instrument is a must !

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The main challenge in flying overall even if you have mastered flying is too feel the reality and transform it into camera movement!

My work is aerial cinematographer.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I hope ai won’t kill us all soon!
