Hi Emily, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I enrolled in esthetican school in hopes to become a professional makeup artist. Such as movie sets, special fx, shoots, etc. It wasnt until i started learning facials, waxing, brows that i fell in love with the world of esthetics! After graduating and receiving my license i began curating and building my business during the pandemic. I had the luck of going viral on Tik Tok which led to my books becoming fully booked out months in advance and a high demand of appointments! I also slowly started becoming someone other fellow beauty providers/enthusiasts looked up to, which was the BIGGEST reward!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It absolutely has not! It’s been a journey. Through dealing with the pandemic, imposter syndrome, anxiety, personal challenges I’m proud of what I’ve been able to make my business become! I received my license right before pandemic. Due to that, I wasn’t able to find a stable source of income. I opted with applying to target since I never had the opportunity of working a normal job since I enrolled into my esthetics school right after high school. It wasnt ideal, but I made due with my target schedule and the pandemic’s circumstances. I can confidently say all the road blocks was all worth the effort!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a licensed esthetician! I offer facials, waxing, brows, tooth gems and education for fellow estheticians. I currently specialize in Brazilian waxing and all things brows! They’re my most requested services. I’m also known for my fun, welcoming and out of your norm service provider. I hate going to an appointment and feel like it’s a doctors visit, uncomfortable environment, etc. I take pride in having my studio be a safe space for everyone. Regardless of gender, sexuality, body type or age. I like to make my client’s feel this is their 2nd home and they’re coming to visit a friend. I love knowing that my client’s enjoy each visit not only because of my impeccable services, but because of the vibe and intentions I put off for them!
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was an extremely shy kid. I still can be! I was VERY to myself. I for sure feel like my social anxiety and overthinking held me back a lot. Although I was to myself and struggled with my openness, I also was a very adventurous and daring child. I was into all types of arts! I loved performing, singing, dancing, drawing, painting, acting…I tried to do it all. And I wasn’t THAT bad at it. I was very optimistic and tried to see the bigger picture and tried to live life to the fullest! As I grew older, my love for the beauty industry started growing and I dealt with self expression through makeup. I knew at this age I was destined for more and wanted to strive for an out of the norm life!
