Meet Cadillac Freeze

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cadillac Freeze.

Cadillac Freeze is a Los Angeles based recording artist, and producer from the Inland Empire. His music is a unique blend of Hip Hop, G Funk, and Psychedelic Soul that not only inspires people to let loose and dance uncontrollably, but also embrace the inner freak in all of us and to be proud of who we really are. Freeze always had a love for music and began making beats in his early teens. He recalls “stealing” albums from his parent’s record collection when he first started out to pull samples from old 70s and 80s songs. Since then Cadillac Freeze has been featured in XXL Magazine and received notable props from Snoop Dogg after earning #1 spot on his Underground Heat countdown.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Its been a constant uphill battle staying afloat in this industry. My against the grain sound and marketing approach has always made me stand out but also made it very difficult at times. Being a blended artist that walks on the fence between Hip Hop, soul, dance, and experimental music has made it hard for labels to see the bigger picture, as they naturally try to box artists into one genre. I also handle all the music production and put together my own videos so at times it can be a lot on my plate and wallet but the challenges make it fun. Its a labor of love thing.

Cadillac Freeze – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I produce a unique fusion of music. A Hip Hop based sound with splashes of soul, psychedelic rock and funk.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Successful to me is the feeling I get after creating something. It may not be perfect but its mine and I put it out there for people to take in however they do. My goal is to make music one can live to so if something I put down connects to listeners I did what I set out to accomplish.
