Lisa Morgan of Los Angeles on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Lisa Morgan. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day consists of my 3 dogs waking me up. Once I have Luke,Adam, and Koda situated, I write in my journal and answer the topic of the day. After that I read a daily devotional, that is specific to the day on the calendar. My next step varies. It is either a quick 7 minute daily workout challenge or 30 minutes on the treadmill. If time permits, I do both. This has been my commitment to myself the last 2 years to get my day started in a positive light.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Lisa Morgan, mother to Summer Jolie Morgan and a professional makeup artist in Los Angeles. I have 39 years in the entertainment industry and just completed my Journeyman courses to elevate my status. I own Dolledup Cosmetics,LLC where I create custom lip glosses on my website www.dolledupcosmetics.com We are currently re-branding and expanding, which has been an exciting process for me. I am working with an amazing woman owned, family owned cosmetics lab. I love playing around with color. Most days, I feel like a mad scientist. My short time at The Academy of Art College in San Francisco, has paid off. Who knew, those Color Theory classes would benefit me later in life. I am working on a show called The Varnell Hill Show, which is a spin-off of the show, Martin. I work on comedy legend, Martin Lawrence. I start a new film in January that I am excited to be a part of. 2026 is going to be great!

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Giving birth to my daughter really shaped how I view the world. I was living my care-free life with only being concerned about myself. Now, raising a daughter who will be going off to college next year, I am more concerned with giving her the right tools in life, being a role model to her and leaving behind a legacy for her to continue. I want my daughter to know how to protect her peace and understand that she can create her own path. She is in control of how she lives her life. I am proud that she understands her own power and how to use it to help not only herself, but others.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
The one thing I would say to my younger self would be: “YOU ARE ENOUGH!” People will try to make you feel like you are small when you are a giant. Don’t let their insecurities get in your head!

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My friends would say that what matters most to me are: my daughter comes first, I love to have fun, I care about others, and I love to make people laugh. These things come easy for me. Life is too short to be unhappy.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What will you regret not doing?
I will regret not being able to have more time in life to go back and tell people that are no longer here, what they meant to me or how they inspired me. I don’t want to regret not saying or doing something for someone who needed me. I really try to reach out if someone’s name comes across my mind. I am more mindful when my family or friends just need some encouragement or a “checking in on you” text/phone call. I don’t want to live with any regrets in my life.
