Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Sophia Rybicki

Sophia Rybicki shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Sophia , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My son. This year I gave birth to a very happy baby boy, so being a mom is definitely a new joy

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Sophia, the photographer behind I.S.Ophia Photography — a wedding photography brand built on emotion, romance, and stories that feel lived-in.

I primarily document weddings and families with a cinematic, moody touch, blending vintage romance with real, unposed connection.

Right now, I’m focused on expanding into more weddings and destination weddings and family sessions. Hoping to knock some locations off my bucket list!

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I think the part of me that feels like I needed to hustle due to necessity out fear. I needed to make it or break it, now that I feel like I reached a plateu, I need to release that part of that was fearful.

That version served me. She got herself here. She taught herselr resilience, be bold, get out of her comfort zone.

But she can’t take herselr where she’s going.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely — every creative who builds something from scratch hits that crossroads. I sti struggle with it and probably always will. Imposter syndrome is a real energy drainer.

There’s been moments when I felt like I was doing everything “right” on paper — posting consistently, taking every session that came my way, pouring hours into editing — and still feeling like it wasn’t adding up.

Bookings were slow, my inbox was quiet, and I did started questioning whether the market was saturated… or whether I was stupid for trying to do something I love as a career.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My bestie would say that what matters most to me is being able to tell people’s stories. That’s always been a fundamental core of my brand.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I feel like I am doing what I was born to do. Since I was really little, the art of storytelling has been apart of me. Today that transformed into how I tell a story through my lens about two people in love.
