Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Melody Law of Hollywood

We recently had the chance to connect with Melody Law and have shared our conversation below.

Melody, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Right now, my days are a blend of balance, intention, and joy. I usually start with a nice soy latte, then a soy matcha latte. Pilates keeps me in tune with my body, and meditation helps ground my mind. I love spending time preparing healthy, nourishing meals — caring for my body and supporting long-term wellness is a big part of my routine. I also make space to connect with loved ones; those moments of laughter and presence mean everything. Evenings often end with a beach walk, a good book, and time spent learning and refining my craft. It’s a rhythm rooted in growth, presence, and meaningful connection.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Melody Law, an actress and model. Just a year ago, I made the decision to fully pursue acting, and it’s one of the best choices I’ve ever made. I finally felt ready to listen to myself and claim this path — to follow what I truly love. Since then, I’ve been growing, thriving, and feeling more aligned with who I am. Storytelling across cultures is something I deeply care about, and I’m excited to keep building a career that’s rooted in authenticity, passion, and connection.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
That’s such a great question! It really takes me back to my truest self. My earliest memory of feeling powerful was during my very first ballet performance at around five or six years old. I remember standing on stage in my primary school hall, wearing a bright, sparkly yellow tutu as a honey bee, with full makeup and hair done. My mom was cheering me on from the front row, camera in hand, chanting my name and reminding me to smile. I felt exhilarating— I had practiced hard and absolutely loved the thrill of performing. Even at that age, something in me just clicked on stage.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a time I actually did give up — put my dream of acting on hold. After university, I didn’t have the support to pursue acting full-time, even though I wanted to go to drama school. I followed the “sensible” path, got a degree, and became a full-time teacher. I tried to convince myself it was enough, but deep down, I felt unfulfilled. I even started a beauty business, but something was still missing.

Then I met James Pratt, an actor and filmmaker, whose passion reignited my own. I realised I had never truly let go of that dream. Now in my 30s, I feel more confident than ever. I’m embracing this path fully, honouring my craft, and finally giving myself permission to live the life I truly want.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
I believe that love, beauty, and a divine presence — whatever you choose to call it — exist everywhere, if we choose to truly pay attention. It’s not something I can prove, but I feel it deeply. It’s in the small moments, the connections, the silences. I also believe that the present moment is the only place where life really happens — where we can feel, change, and create. Everything else is memory or imagination. Being fully present is where the magic is.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What will you regret not doing?
Without a doubt — pursuing an acting career. If I had let that dream slip away, I know it would’ve been my biggest regret. Acting is more than a career to me; it’s a calling, a part of who I am. Choosing to follow it, even later than I originally planned, has been one of the most meaningful decisions of my life.
