We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kikee Bah. Check out our conversation below.
Kikee, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
As soon as I wake up, I like to take a few minutes to remind myself of all the good things that are a part of my life. I don’t do this every single day, however, I try to tell myself, as often as I can, how strong I am, and how grateful I am for being a risk taker.
This is something I have decided to implement in my routine, especially when I’ve had a tough day.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m an artist, in love with the arts in general, but especially with MUSIC. Writing songs and performing them live, in front of an audience that connects to your words, and voice, is one of the most rewarding gifts one can have as an entertainer.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I started feeling powerful when I realized that knowing myself and what I was about was the most important tool I had as a human being. So many people are dazed and confused, searching for something in others that they can only find in themselves. This revelation came to me quite early in life. I had to face many, many challenges, and even though it was extremely difficult for me to go through such a painful chapter I knew I had to believe in me.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering is just a phase, even though it doesn’t feel like it when we go through it.
It’s also something that can build up character and resilience.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
One hundred percent!! I’ve always been as authentic as I could. I embrace all of the shades of MOI (that’s me in French)😊
I acknowledge my emotions, if a person or a situation makes me upset or angry, I’ll voice it. On the other hand if someone makes me feel at ease around them, if I find them to be a positive influence in my life, I would make sure that they know it.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m by myself, or around the right people.
I’ve always been big on energy, and that’s why I can’t just let anybody in my circle. We have to click, really click, and complement one another in a way that’s genuine.
