Elle, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Integrity, because it really speaks to who you are as a person. Intelligence and energy can be altered and change but your core values and integrity comes with you. I think it evolves over time but its something we all have that speaks to our true character.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I work in production accounting for film and television. Essentially, I pay for movies while they are being made. With a freelance career spanning over 12 years, I have credits working on both studio feature films and television series, domestically and internationally.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My dad has this video of me somewhere, I think I was maybe 4 or 5 years old, running around the house with these little star shaped sunglasses on, trying to say the word “movie stahhhh,” haha. I think I knew even then I was little that I was destined for a career in film, but more importantly, even at that young age, I had the power of imagination. When I think back to that memory, it feels powerful because we all have power within us, even from a young age. With that power, I grew up and chased my passions which at the end of the day, was a powerful choice and it allowed me to make a dream come true.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of what people think. I spent a lot of my younger years afraid to really go after the creative things I wanted for fear of being judged but the older I get, the more I have learned to let go of that and go after what I want. Learning to be confident and believe in yourself, even when nobody else does is where the magic really happens.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Turning myself in to a SAG-AFTRA stunt performer is probably the biggest project I have taken on yet, but I believe I can do it. I did not grow up athletic. I did not grow up doing gymnastics or training martial arts. Learning these skills in my thirties has been the most challenging thing I have ever done, but I am more driven than ever to crush the goals I have set for myself, transform my body and make my dream of performing on the big screen a reality.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I try to be very aware of how my actions will affect others, especially in the long run. I think a lot of the time people are moving so fast and are so absorbed in their own lives and feelings and emotions, they don’t really realize how their words or actions will truly affect others in the long run. I try to be very aware of this as I navigate situations, especially emotionally charged ones. How we treat each other, is directly tied to the memories we make, which are everything, so I think it’s especially important to be mindful of how you handle others in all situations because your words and actions are forever.
