Cary , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I dedicate the first 90 minutes of my day to myself. I begin with meditation to clear my head and set intentions, and then I go straight to the gym. That routine helps me stay focused, disciplined, and energized for the rest of the day
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Cary Mark, and I’m an actor/producer. What drives me is creating work that resonates on both a personal and universal level — stories that stay with people long after the credits roll. I recently released my film The Company We Keep on Amazon, which I’m very proud of, and I’m continuing to develop new projects that blend suspense, raw emotion, and authentic human connection.
What makes my journey unique is that I came from very humble beginnings, and at one point I was at rock bottom. Rather than letting that define me, I used it as fuel to carve my own path in this industry. I see my brand as proof that resilience, vision, and relentless hard work can turn adversity into art. Right now, I’m focused on building deeper connections with audiences and expanding my storytelling into new formats — always with the goal of creating work that entertains, but also makes people feel seen.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
I’ve been blessed to work with some incredible acting coaches who not only have decades of experience but have also been in major films themselves. Their mentorship taught me not just about the craft of acting, but also about discipline, preparation, and the importance of bringing authenticity to every role.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain when I realized it could actually be my greatest strength. For a long time, I tried to push it down, but once I began channeling it into my work, everything changed. Acting gave me a safe space to turn struggle into truth, and filmmaking allowed me to transform my experiences into stories that others could connect with. That shift—using pain as fuel instead of a burden—has been the most powerful turning point in my career and in my life.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say what really matters to me is my craft — I put everything I have into growing as an actor and storyteller. But just as important, they’d tell you how much I value time with my wife and our dogs. That balance keeps me grounded and gives me the energy to pour myself fully into the work.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I’m absolutely doing what I was born to do. Storytelling has always been in me — it’s how I make sense of the world and connect with others. Nobody told me to take this path; in fact, it would’ve been easier to choose something safer. But I knew deep down this was my purpose, and pursuing it has been the most fulfilling decision of my life.
