We recently had the chance to connect with Juan Gollaz and have shared our conversation below.
Juan , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Sitting down and breathe peacefully and enjoy the moment. Trying to be present and appreciate the small things in life that sometimes we don’t recognize like taking a walk, talk to a neighbor, enjoy a sunset, etc.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Juan Gollaz and I’m an artist. My main focus at the moment is tattooing, specializing in Mesoamerica culture designs with my own twist to them to make them unique. I also enjoy pencil drawing and toys customization.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
The moment that I realized we live in a duality reality where there’s up and down, inside and out, good and bad, etc… and you need to find a balance to keep navigating this school we call life in this classroom called world.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering puts you on a lower state of mind but necessary to understand that internal work needs to be done. While you are there, the only person that can help is you. It all depends how much suffering you want to endure to get out of it. Success is only the reward of all suffering.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
The project I’m working the most is myself. I believe that a constant improvement of one self spiritual, physical and emotional is important to bring the best of people around you and create a better place for the present we are living and future generations. This is definitely a long road as the more you keep improving, more challenges arise.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I would like them to say that I wanted the best from people. That change is possible regardless of your circumstances. That knowledge is power to oneself and once you have the knowledge, you should use it to help other to create a better reality.
