Inspiring Conversations with Victoria Beliso, Realtor with Compass

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Beliso.

Victoria Beliso

Hi Victoria, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Long Beach and raised in San Gabriel, so the Greater L.A. area has always been home. I grew up surrounded by sunshine, beach days, and strong community. As a teenager in the ’80s, I even spent time exploring the Sunset Strip with friends; it was such a vibrant, energetic time, and I think it shaped my love for connection and culture.

Dance and baton twirling were a huge part of my life growing up. There truly wasn’t a week without practice, competitions, or performances. It required discipline and commitment, but I loved it. I was fortunate enough to travel internationally for baton twirling and even perform as a Mouseketeer in Disneyland parades. Those experiences taught me confidence, grace under pressure, and the importance of showing up prepared. Looking back, I can see how much that shaped my work ethic.

While attending Pasadena City College, I took a summer job at Universal Studios Hollywood, not realizing it would change the course of my life. It’s where I met my husband, and together we eventually settled in Toluca Lake. During that time, I worked at the front desk and concierge tower of the Universal City Hilton. I absolutely loved being in hospitality. I loved getting to know people, anticipating their needs, and making their experience feel seamless and special. That’s when I realized how much I enjoy serving others and creating a smooth, thoughtful experience.

I later transitioned into Oakwood Corporate Housing, helping individuals and families find temporary homes during transitional periods in their lives. That experience deepened my understanding that housing is never just about property; it’s about stability, comfort, and peace of mind.

When our family grew and we moved to Valencia for the space and the schools, I knew I wanted a career that allowed me to be present as a mom while still building something meaningful. My husband suggested real estate, and it felt like everything came together: my love for people, my hospitality background, and my natural drive to work hard for others.

I got my license in 2008, right as the market was shifting dramatically. It wasn’t the easiest time to start, but I’m honestly grateful for that. It forced me to learn quickly, stay steady, and truly understand the market from the ground up. From day one, I learned that this career isn’t just about transactions; it’s about trust, relationships, and consistently showing up for the people who count on you.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been easy, but I think that’s part of what shaped me.

When I first got into real estate, I was drawn to the flexibility. What I quickly learned is that flexibility comes with responsibility. My clients’ schedules often become my schedule. There are evenings, weekends, last-minute negotiations, and emotional conversations. When someone is trusting you with one of the biggest financial decisions of their life, you show up – fully.

Starting in 2008 meant I stepped into the industry during one of the most challenging markets we’ve seen. There were short sales, foreclosures, and a lot of uncertainty. I had to learn quickly and stay steady, even when things felt unpredictable. That time taught me resilience, patience, and how to guide people calmly through complicated situations.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that this business is about relationships, not just transactions. People need honesty. They need someone who will protect their interests, explain the details clearly, and sometimes even tell them to slow down or walk away if something doesn’t feel right. I’ve always believed my role is to be an advocate first.

Balancing work and family has also been a learning experience. Real estate doesn’t always follow a perfect schedule, but I’ve worked hard to build a life where I can be present for both my clients and my family. It takes intention and discipline, but it’s absolutely worth it.

Looking back, I wouldn’t call it smooth, but I would call it meaningful. Every challenge strengthened my work ethic and deepened my commitment to the people who trust me.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
For me, real estate has always been about people first.

I understand there are contracts, negotiations, and deadlines involved, but what matters most to me is the trust behind it all. When someone chooses to work with me, they allow me into an important season of their life, and I feel a deep responsibility to care for them through that process.

My clients work directly with me from beginning to end. I do not pass them off to an assistant or team member. I stay personally involved every step of the way. I am there for the conversations, the questions, the inspections, and the negotiations. I want my clients to feel steady and supported the entire time.

I treat each client as if they are my only client. I take time to listen and truly understand what matters to them. I never rush decisions or apply pressure. If we need patience, we practice patience. If something does not feel right, we slow down and talk it through. My role is to guide with honesty and care so they feel confident in every step we take together.

I also believe in the long term impact of real estate. A home is where life happens, but it is also one of the most meaningful ways families can build their net worth and create stability for the future. I am always thinking about how today’s decisions can support their goals years from now.

I never forget that this is a big moment in someone’s life. At the end of the day, I just want my clients to feel safe, supported, and confident in the decisions we make together. If they can look back and say they felt truly taken care of and never alone in the process, then I know I’ve done my job. That feeling matters to me more than anything.

How do you define success?
What success means to me is doing something that truly fulfills me and that doesn’t feel like work. I know it may sound cliche, but I am so grateful to help my clients find their perfect homes and increase their net worth through real estate. Knowing that the home I’ve helped someone find will be a place where they create lasting memories with their loved ones is what keeps me passionate about what I do every day.
