Distilled 1920 was founded with a clear mission: to redefine event hospitality across Southern California. We recognized a persistent blind spot in the luxury event industry—while floral design, lighting, and staging had evolved into high-production art forms, bar service remained largely an afterthought. High-end celebrations deserved far more than a basic pop-up table tucked in a corner; they deserved a structural centerpiece that matched the beauty and scale of the property.

Driven by that gap, we engineered and built California’s premier fleet of custom mobile stage bars. Designed as full-scale architectural centerpieces—with configurations ranging up to 24 feet—our mobile units seamlessly blend heavy-duty production capabilities such as built-in refrigeration, kegerators and integrated lighting with refined, high-end aesthetics.

Two years after launching that initial vision, Distilled 1920 has evolved from a concept into a complete hospitality production service. Today, we partner with California’s premier venues, planners, and hosts, utilizing our versatile fleet and bespoke satellite setups to execute flawless, full-scale beverage programs. I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Every founder will tell you that the first two years feel less like a smooth ride and more like a crash course in problem-solving. Building something that didn’t exist in the market meant there was no blueprint to follow—we had to create one.

One of our biggest early hurdles was simply educating the market. When people hear “mobile bar,” their minds instantly jump to a horse trailer or a folding table with a tablecloth draped over it. Getting venue managers and luxury event planners to realize that we were introducing genuine architectural infrastructure—with custom setups designed to scale up to 24 feet—took a lot of work, site walks, and proving our concept in real time.

Designing a heavy-duty, high-volume mobile stage bar that complies with strict health and venue standards while still looking like a high-end luxury installation isn’t easy. In the beginning, managing custom fabrication timelines, navigating venue access limits, and dialing in seamless delivery logistics kept us up plenty of nights.
