Hidden Gems: Meet Tiffany Young

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Young.

Hi Tiffany, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
God truly led me to a career as a Real Estate Agent. I was going through an extremely difficult time in my life and felt very lost and depressed. During that time, the topic of real estate kept coming up in different conversations and I had always wanted to learn about buying homes and investing in properties. I decided to start taking classes at my local community college to learn about the home buying and investing process.

During that time, one of my professors encouraged me to take additional courses and to get my real estate license. I was not interested to be honest because I did not want to be a salesperson. I thought salespeople were annoying and pushy and I didn’t want that to be me. Anyhow, my relationship with my professor grew and my family encouraged me to consider a career as a realtor. One of my close friends encouraged me to apply for jobs in real estate to see how I liked the industry. Well, of course, God opened the door for me to work as a part-time real estate assistant and surprisingly, I enjoyed it very much. In addition to that, I enjoyed learning about real estate and decided to take the required courses to get my California license. I became a licensed sales agent in November of 2016. It took about one year of door knocking (going from door to door asking people if they were interested in selling their home) to sell my first property. That was really tough but rewarding.

Today, I have assisted many buyers with purchasing properties and sellers with selling their homes for the highest and best price. I recently hired an assistant to help keep me on track with the day to day operations as I recently expanded to assisting investors with buying and selling their investment properties. Now that I am a sales agent, I don’t feel like I am selling. I’ve learned that real estate is about building and establishing relationships with people. I truly love building new relationships and assisting buyers and sellers with their real estate transactions. I am so grateful God opened this door for as it has lead me to a career that I truly love and enjoy.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road to whatever you want is NEVER smooth. I had a lot of phone calls with my parents, siblings and friends that consisted of me crying because I was doubting myself or had a bad experiences that made me question if I will be a successful realtor. Support is really important on the journey. I had a lot of people around me that allowed me to borrow their faith when my faith was low. It kept me going.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am a Realtor with Compass and have sold homes throughout Southern California. I confidently guide my clients through negotiations and manage simple or complex real estate transactions. I’m transparent, resourceful and possess distinguished interpersonal skills that allow me to assess and understand the needs of my clients. I am dedicated to helping my clients reach their goals and I promise to handle your home investment with expertise and care. Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I’ve learned to have fun and embrace the journey. Nothing is going to be perfect and I didn’t need to wait for the right conditions to make things happen. It seems like I started assisting more clients and selling more properties when I stopped expecting certain outcomes and just enjoyed the process of growing and learning. I also learned that when God puts me on a path that I don’t need to worry about how things will work out. When I doubted if I should continue in real estate, I would go back to the beginning and reflect on how God put me on this path and opened doors every step of the way. Reminding myself that God put me on this path gave me the courage and reassurance I needed to keep moving forward.
