Hidden Gems: Meet Tasha Franken of T — F Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasha Franken.

Hi Tasha, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Sure! My story starts in a pretty different world than Pilates.

I was discovered on a beach in Spain when I was 18 and got flown out to London Fashion Week the next week, which kicked off my modeling career. I’m Norwegian and Dutch but grew up in Spain, and modeling took me all over the place after that, London, Dubai, Sydney, Singapore, New York, before I finally moved to LA about six years ago.
Along the way I got really into holistic health. I started taking nutrition courses just to understand how to heal my own body better, and that led me to train as a Pilates instructor. Once I saw how much movement could act like medicine for both my mind and my body, I was hooked.

The thing is, I tried pretty much every workout method out there through my modeling years, and nothing gave me the results I wanted without leaving me feeling bulky or completely wiped out. So I built my own method. It’s low-impact, focused on long, lean muscle, and designed specifically with the female body and hormone cycle in mind, with a big focus on lowering cortisol and inflammation.

That personal method turned into T — F Studio. I started filming workouts in the tiniest corner of my bedroom and that’s actually part of why the whole method is built around small spaces and minimal equipment, because I was living proof that you don’t need a big fancy studio to get a great workout in. It just needs to work with real life.
From there it grew into what it is today, a full platform with hundreds of workouts, new classes every week, live sessions, structured programs, and more recently the T – F Baby Method, a prenatal program I built because it’s exactly what I wished I had when I was pregnant.

So it’s been a long journey from a beach in Spain to a bedroom studio to where we are now, but honestly every part of it, the modeling, the nutrition, the Pilates, all fed into building something I’m really proud of.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Honestly, no, it hasn’t been a completely smooth road, and I don’t think anyone’s ever is.

Modeling looks glamorous from the outside, but the reality is a lot of instability. I lived out of a suitcase for about ten years, moving between cities, and it made it really hard to feel grounded anywhere. On top of that, I developed an eating disorder during those years, which is something that took a long time to work through and is honestly still
something I carry with me.

Going through that recovery changed how I looked at fitness and health completely. I learned firsthand that there are no quick fixes. It’s all about small, consistent steps, not extreme measures. Before I built my own method, I actually went through a cycle of overtraining and undereating, chasing results that never really stuck because the approach wasn’t sustainable in the first place.

That struggle is actually a huge part of why T — F Studio exists. I wanted to build something that felt good. There’s so much misinformation out there about fitness, especially for women, and I didn’t want to add to that. I wanted to create a space where people could move their bodies and feel strong without chasing a quick fix or beating themselves up along the way.

So no, it definitely wasn’t smooth. But every bump along the way is really what shaped what T — F Studio has become.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
T — F Studio is an online Pilates platform I built to bring studio-level workouts into people’s homes, without the long sessions, high costs, or bulky results people often associate with intense training.

We specialize in low-impact, results-driven Pilates that’s designed to work with real life. That means workouts that fit into a small space, don’t need much equipment, and can flex around your schedule, whether you have ten minutes or an hour. Inside the app you’ll find hundreds of workouts, new classes added every week, live sessions, meditations, and structured programs for different goals, including prenatal and postnatal training through the T-F Baby Method.

What sets us apart is that everything is built around how the female body actually works. A lot of fitness content out there treats everyone the same, but our approach factors in things like hormone cycles and cortisol levels, with a strong focus on breathwork throughout every class. The goal isn’t to push people to exhaustion. It’s to help them build long, lean strength while actually feeling better, not more depleted.

I’m probably most proud of the community we’ve built. This isn’t just an app people open and forget about. We’ve got an active private group where members support each other, and so many people tell us it’s genuinely changed not just their body but their mindset around movement altogether. That mindset shift matters more to me than any single result.

If there’s one thing I want people to know about T — F Studio, it’s that we don’t believe in quick fixes or trends. We believe in consistency, in movement that feels good, and in creating a safe space where you can show up as you are and actually enjoy taking care of yourself.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
This one’s easy for me. It’s working out with my grandma from a really young age. She’s almost 90 now and she still does over a thousand jump ropes a day, plus a full workout routine on top of that.

My mom also used to take my sister and me to the gym with her when we were little, so movement has always just been part of our family. It was never a chore or something we were forced into. It was how we bonded and how we looked after each other.

Growing up like that shaped how I see fitness now. It was never about punishing your body or chasing a certain look. It was about feeling good and taking care of yourself, and doing it together with people you love. That’s honestly a big part of what I try to bring into T — F Studio too, movement that feels like something you want to do, not something you have to do.
