Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Mellick
Hi Morgan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hello, my name is Morgan Mellick. I am a Master Animal Communicator and Certified Akashic Records Practitioner.
My story begins before I was born. You see, I am a rare native southern Californian, four generations back on my Mother’s side. We are a mixture of intuitive and creative animal lovers. I am proud to carry this on in my lineage.
When my beloved mother was a young girl growing up in southern California with her two sisters and my grandparents, a magical event kept occurring. It turns out that injured birds were coming to my grandfather’s home in the city seeking help. They would arrive, one at a time with a broken wing, a broken leg, a broken beak or some other sort of injury. My grandfather was a dentist by profession but he also loved animals very much. So much so, in addition to having various farm animals and dogs, he would take his precious dental metals, melt them down and create life-like animal creatures he would secure to crystals and rocks he would find during his many trips to northern California. He was an artist. My grandfather would see these injured birds in the yard and bring them in, put a splint on or whatever they needed medically to heal, and place them in a large aviary for recovery. Once recovered, my mother, her two sisters and my grandparents would release the birds back out into the wild. It’s pretty magical that this did not just happen once, but many times. How did the birds know to come to my grandfather’s home to get help? We could never explain this occurrence rationally. It was as if somehow these wild birds knew my grandfather who lived in the city would heal them. And, it got me thinking…
I too, was born with this connection to wild and domesticated animals. For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to the messages animals bring to my life, I have spoken and we have shared a dialogue. I refer to these messages as “gifts.” I feel honored to be a messenger. As an animal activist and intuitive, I have been working on behalf of animals, wild and domestic, ever since I was a young girl.
My journey has taken me from trying to make a fuzzy black caterpillar a pet as a little girl but my mom wouldn’t let me and having various pets growing up, to working and volunteering in animal rescue, including the super cool job of being an Exotic Wildlife Instructor to working for years in TV production often on animal oriented shows to where I am now, running my own business as a Master Animal Communicator and Certified Akashic Records Practitioner. I have been doing this work for a decade now.
For me, it all goes back to animals and giving back to them in my work no matter what I am doing. The love I have for animals is boundless and the purity of their love, which is unconditional, is what they are here collectively to teach us; how to love in this way. We have a lot to learn from them and I am here to share that with you.
Back in 2014, I discovered The Gurney Institute of Animal Communication. Intrigued, I signed up for a weekend class. That weekend changed my life. And, I would go on to study in the HeartTalk Program.
During the weekend class, we did a partner exercise where we exchanged a photo of our animal to communicate with and I followed the instructions given to us precisely and was open to the process. When communicating with my partner’s animal while taking notes on what I was gathering, I noticed how visceral this exchange felt. The communication came through from the animal and all my senses were activated. It began with her white fluffy dog excited to talk to me as he was bouncing up and down in circles while taking me through their home in Bangkok, a place I have never been to in real life. I could see wooden floors and a hallway containing bedrooms on both sides and at the end to the right was a den with thin lime green curtains blowing in the wind from the sliders that went out onto the balcony. The air felt warm, humid and sticky. The white dog began to share with me that he was worried about another dog in the home and wanted me to meet her and talk to her. I agreed and allowed the dog to take me to her. To the back left of the home was the kitchen and I found another dog there, one that looked exactly like a German Shepard. When communicating with this dog, I found out that she was really scared that her mother, my partner in this exercise, was not coming back home. I assured her that she would be back home in a few days and that I would share all of this with her human mother. The white dog thanked me for talking to the other dog and I was called out of the communication by our instructor, the lovely Carol Gurney. We were asked to exchange what we got in the communication with our partner and to validate what we got right in the exercise. Upon sharing with my partner what I gathered from her white dog, she was able to tell me that’s the personality and mannerisms of her white dog, the dog I had a photo of. It is important to note, I did not know my partner had any other animals. She goes on to tell me that I got the description of her home down to the lime green curtains accurately. But, what really was a marvel was that I told her I spoke to another dog in her home and described the dog as a German Shepard. As she pulls out a picture of this dog that I was speaking to, I sat there stunned thinking how is it possible that I was able to communicate with not just one animal but two animals in the same communication? As we sat there transfixed by what came through, she told me that sadly this dog’s dog mother was killed in a religious sacrifice in front of her which would explain the trauma of her thinking that her human mother was not coming back home and the fear and loss I felt from her during the communication. We were amazed and I sent her home to share this experience with her dogs and reassure her German Shepard that she would never lose her human mother and that she is safe and deeply loved.
Needless to say, this incredible experience brought tears to my eyes. After years of searching for my true work with animals, I found my soul purpose in Animal Communication.
A few years later, I discovered in my own work that I was passionate about exploring the soul in a deeper way. I wanted to know more about the souls of animals and if they have a purpose like humans do. I came across the Akashic Records which contain our souls experiences, desires, purpose and future possibilities for our lives, including animal’s lives. I studied with the lovely Helen Vonderheide under the Linda Howe Center for Akashic Studies and became a Certified Akashic Records Practitioner. One of my most popular offerings are soul purpose consultations with animals and their people.
I was living out my soul purpose with animals and their beloved people, while in my personal life, I lost my mother. This loss shattered me and I was yet again, at a crossroads and my life was about to change. My mother never wrote a will as she was scared to talk about death. I knew some of what she wanted because I knew her, but I did not have it all laid out as I wish I had so I could honor her exactly how she wished. It was then I realized that I needed to do more for dying animals and their people. I know loss from a deep perspective. I got to work and I created something I knew no one else was doing to better serve my clients and their animals. It is called an End of Life Care Plan, to be put in place before my client’s beloved animal passes away with the goal to honor an animal’s wishes and simply, leave no questions left unanswered. We find out exactly and in great detail what an animal wants and needs before they pass on. This way my clients can have the opportunity and the space to process the grief from the loss of their animal because honestly, there is no way around this but they can know in their hearts they honored their animal in the best of ways, the ways that they wished. I have found that this brings peace and a sense of honored finality of an animal’s physical life. And, the beautiful thing is, every time I honor my client’s animals, I honor my mother all over again and her legacy and mine continue on in the earth plane.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Such is life that it is not always a smooth road, often it is a very hard one. I have been through many challenges but I always had a guide, my Snoopy, a tuxedo rescue cat who lived to be 23 years old. Snoopy was like a squirrel, quite literally afraid of nothing and her fearlessness was an inspiration to me. I call to her when I am stuck and afraid and she let’s me know there is nothing to be afraid of and she shows me the way through. She, along with my mother are the two loved ones in my life that are my greatest cheerleaders especially when it comes to fulfilling my soul purpose as an Animal Communicator. They’re my soulmates.
I became an entrepreneur ten years ago and it has been one of the best decisions I have made because I honored myself and my passions. It has not always been easy. Entrepreneurship feels like riding waves, we swim into the tide and catch the wave and then we get pushed out onto the shore, only to keep getting up and riding the wave once again, and again. The silver lining is, ultimately, this journey allows me to give back by helping people and their animals. What could be better than that?
As I spoke about before, I lost my mother a handful of years ago. It was the single most impactful loss of my life and there have been others since then. I understand death and loss of people and animals from a deep perspective. I know intimately what it feels like. Grief is part of the tapestry that is my life and it expresses itself in the purity of love I feel and give to others, animals and humans.
I currently live in Joshua Tree, California. When I came out here I did not know anyone but, my bravery has landed me an amazing community of people. And, I will share with you the little story of how I got here.
After my mom passed, I had a vivid dream where she came to me. We were living in our beloved historic home and she was vibrant and healthy. She told me to take a road trip with her and so, we got into her vintage 1984 Jag and she drove us, windows down, to the high desert in California. We drove up to see the mountains accented with Joshua Trees and she left me there and told me that this is where I am meant to be. It all felt very real. And, it would be years before this dream of moving to the high desert would come true. I am happy to say that I am part of the magical Hi-Dez now.
As you know, we’re big fans of Morgan Mellick, The Animal Alchemist . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a Master Animal Communicator and Certified Akashic Records Practitioner. For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to the messages animals bring to my life, I have spoken and we have shared a dialogue. I refer to these messages as “gifts.” I feel honored to be a messenger. As an animal activist and intuitive, I have been working on behalf of animals, wild and domestic, ever since I was a young girl. I am always giving back to animals in some way, whether through volunteer work, events or donations.
In 2014, I was professionally trained through the renowned, Gurney Institute of Animal Communication in the HeartTalk Program. As I define it, Animal Communication facilitates a heart to heart connection between a human and an animal as a pathway of communication between souls. I use the skilled technique of telepathy and intuition to gather information and offer consultations with your animal; a deep communication that is very detailed and nurturing in nature, while at the same time get’s to the root of issues through problem solving, as this is my specialty. It’s like I am having a one-on-one conversation with your animal back and forth and the communication comes through as dialogue, thoughts, feelings, images, sensations in the body, and even tastes and smells come my way. I work with all animals from dogs and cats, to rescue animals, to farm animals, and exotics. I work with clients in the areas of death and dying, afterlife, soul purpose, behavioral and physical issues, life transitions as well as, past lives. To clarify, when I work with animals that have physical issues going on, Animal Communication is used in tandem to a Veterinarian’s diagnoses and treatment plans.
In the years I have been doing this work, I realized that there is sadly not enough support out there for those of you who have animals that are dying. The truth is, we are riddled with grief and questions. So, I created something I knew no one else was doing to better serve my clients and their animals. It is called an End of Life Care Plan, to be put in place before your beloved animal passes away with the goal to honor your animal’s wishes and simply, leave no questions left unanswered.
Over all, I specialize in helping you navigate and transform the relationship with your animal so that the two of you may live harmoniously in a deeply connected soul-to-soul union.

Additionally, I am a Certified Akashic Records Practitioner at the Linda Howe Center for Akashic Studies. The Akashic Records are a vibrational record of every individual soul and its journey. The Records contain all past, present and future possibilities in life and they are accessed through a sacred prayer. Here, I channel the Masters, Teachers and Loved Ones of my clients; animal and human through the Records and the reality of any matter; purpose, career, relationships, money, experiences, physical ailments, out dated habits and behaviors, loss, death and dying, grief, trauma, past life issues, creative expression and so on, I deliver the soul’s truth. Soul purpose consultations are a great passion of mine and it is my pleasure to have this offering for animals and people.
Since I mostly work remotely, I take clients from all over, including the high desert, Los Angeles, statewide and internationally. Additionally, I offer in person sessions. My offerings include, Animal Communication and Akashic Records consultations and packages. I provide personalized healing and loving structure with my clients in the form of action plans. You may also find me teaching workshops and events sharing the work I love with the world.
